Go To

Airdate: March 30, 2015

As the Elemental Masters search for Nya and the prisoners plan their escape, Chen conspires to end the tournament in a way that nobody wins.

Tropes:

  • Ambiguous Situation: Neuro and Griffin Turner were captured offscreen (after Mr. Pale but before Jay), and it's unclear who was captured first, leaving their placement in the tournament unknown.
  • Call-Back: It was mentioned in "Codename: Arcturus" that the titular project was named after a Serpentine general who Wu and Garmadon fought. It's revealed in this episode that Arcturus was the leader of the Anacondrai during the Serpentine War, and who was banished to the Cursed Realm after the war.
  • Cliffhanger: Lloyd, Nya, and Garmadon are forced to go into hiding as Chen captures the other Elemental Masters.
  • Costume Evolution: Kai, Jay, and Lloyd obtained their Jungle robes shortly before the start of this episode, though their origin is unclear.
  • Internal Reveal: Kai learns that Skylor is the spy and Chen's daughter, both of which were revealed at the end of the previous episode.
  • I Regret Nothing: Although he's aware that signing Wu's letter to get Misako to fall in love with him was scummy, Garmadon admits that he doesn't regret it because otherwise Lloyd wouldn't exist.
  • Oh, Crap!: Poor Kai goes through a lot of emotions upon realizing Skylor's true identity.
  • The Quisling: It's revealed that Chen and Clouse sided with the Serpentine during the Serpentine War, and tried to pressure Garmadon into doing the same. Garmadon refused and allied with his brother instead. Predictably, Chen and Clouse were branded traitors after the war and exiled to the island they reside on now.
  • Wham Shot: In-universe; Skylor using Zane's powers of Ice. Kai notes that she shouldn't have access to those powers, and realizes she's the spy.
