Twilight, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity rent a boat to spend the day sailing. After Twilight stops Rarity from bringing an overstuffed trunk on board to save weight, a strong wind blows the boat away from the dock and leaves them in danger of running aground. They turn from shore just in time, but Twilight loses her map in the wind and they find themselves bearing down on a group of rocks. Pinkie magically charges up a pastry from her basket of snacks and throws it into the water, causing an explosion and wave that pushes the boat back to the dock. Even though the day has gone haywire, Twilight is glad to have spent it with her friends.
Tropes:
- Crazy-Prepared: Rarity tries to bring a trunk stuffed with all manner of extra gear onto the boat, but Twilight plunks it back on the dock. Turns into a Brick Joke at the end, when Rarity pulls towels from the trunk so everyone can dry off.
- Epic Fail: Twilight predicts a westward breeze down to the second... which blows east.
- Here There Be Dragons: Twilight's map features a sea monster on it... which, as a Continuity Nod, looks just like Steven Magnet.
- Mood Whiplash: Pinkie Pie shifts between philosophizing about the ocean and being her usual goofy self with no warning.
