Put on your Big Hero Pants. It's time to go to work.

Tropes

  • Actually Pretty Funny: This is Mirio's reaction to Bakugo's hero name. Bakugo is offended, if only a bit.
  • Beauty Is Never Tarnished: A somewhat downplayed example. Nejire Chan is hit by Dabi's fire and temporarily knocked out. She isn't any worse for wear when she gets back up to fight alongside Lemillion, but she has several burn marks and half of her hair is gone.
  • Big Damn Heroes:
    • Best Jeanist and Lemillion arrive to help bring down Gigantomachia and the Nomus. Lemillion saves Burnin from a wormlike Nomu on the way.
    • Endeavor gets a Heroic Second Wind thanks to Deku and hits Gigantamachia.
  • The Bus Came Back: Best Jeanist makes his return following the end of last episode. Mirio Togata/Lemillion follows halfway through the episode, with his Permeation Quirk restored thanks to Eri.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: Eri has been well taken care of in U.A, ever since she was rescued. While living her life as a normal girl, she has also been spending a lot of time training her Rewind Quirk. Before the operation began, Mirio asks Eri to help restore his Permeation Quirk so he can join the battle as Lemillion again, and she is all too happy to oblige. While not at full strength yet, he is able to back the other heroes up nonetheless as the battle reaches its fever pitch.
  • Cliffhanger: The Heroes finally bounce back. Shigaraki is still down, Gigatamachia is finally asleep, Toga has disappeared, and Spinner and Mr. Compress are captured. However, Compress promises a "performance" to regain the advantage.
  • Deadly Hug: Dabi attempts to kill Shoto by pulling him into an embrace and burning him with Blueflame's full power. Only Midoriya's timely rescue stops him.
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: Deku telling Dabi that Endeavor's past is no excuse for committing horrific crimes.
  • Got Me Doing It: Despite its long Hero name, Iida/Ingenium chooses to call Bakugo by it with a straight face.
  • Heroic BSoD: Endeavor suffers this after Dabi's reveal as Toya and his Breaking Speech that followed last episode. He is left frozen and forced to watch him and Shoto fight before pulling himself together thanks to Deku.
  • Heroic RRoD: Deku is still unable to move after his fight with Shigaraki, no matter how hard he tries to push himself. He finds a workaround by using a "Froppy-style" version of Blackwhip with his mouth.
  • Heroic Second Wind:
    • Bakugo and Nejire Chan get one to back up Best Jeanist and Lemillion, with Bakugo feeling his attacks be more prominent after surviving Shigaraki's own.
    • While Deku is still unable to move, he finds a workaround to rescue Shoto from Dabi.
    • Thanks to Deku's words, Endeavor manages enough strength for one last attack on Machia. It's not enough to knock him out, but it does buy everyone a few more seconds before Creati's anesthetics finally kick in.
  • He's Back!: When all hope seems lost, Mirio Togata, aka Lemillion makes a triumphant return.
    Lemillion: POWEEEEERRRR!!!
  • Hope Crusher: Best Jeanist believes that Dabi waited until the public's faith had already been shaken before delivering the one-two punch broadcast in hopes of breaking it entirely.
  • Hurricane of Puns: Even while still injured and struggling to deal with Dabi, Machia and the Nomu, all at once, Best Jeanist isn't above dishing out pants-themed puns, including the Title Drop.
Best Jeanist: Your greed has caused your plans to fall apart, like cheap denim!
  • Ironic Echo: "This is your Quirk, not his!" Deku yells at Dabi that he's not Endeavor, and adds that his Quirk belongs to him, not his or Shoto's father. Whereas Midoriya tells Shoto at the Sports Festival that he shouldn't hold himself back because of his father's upbringing, this line his directed to Dabi to translate that he alone is responsible for his crimes. Dabi simply laughs that their difference is obvious.
  • New Powers as the Plot Demands:
    • Deku unlocks a new Spider-Sense-like ability to tell him something bad is about to happen. The name of this is revealed next episode.
    • He makes use of a new version of Blackwhip since none of his limbs were functioning at the moment. Appropriately called "Froppy Style", which he learned before the evacuation mission, he can spew Blackwhip from his mouth like Tsuyu's frog tongue.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: Heroes Best Jeanist, Nejire Chan, Iida, and even villains Mr. Compress and Spinner all have varied, but overall negative reactions to Bakugou's new Hero name. Mirio is the only one who supposedly likes it because it's funny.
  • Not Quite Dead: Best Jeanist's frequent coughing up blood suggests that he is still suffering major injuries from his fight with All For One way back in Kamino City. He had only recovered from surgery, but he was warned by a pilot that he shouldn't be returning to the field yet.
  • Reports of My Death Were Greatly Exaggerated: A confused and furious Dabi demands to know how Best Jeanist is alive when he clearly saw his motionless body in the bag Hawks brought. Jeanist doesn't give an answer and focuses on keeping all of the Villains bound.
  • The Reveal: Bakugo has previously stated that he's finally come up with a Hero Name since last season, but planned to reveal it to Best Jeanist the next time they meet. With the Pro's return, he finally makes it official.
Bakugo: From now on, call me GREAT EXPLOSION MURDER GOD DYNAMIGHT!
  • Wham Shot: Just as Machia prepares to fight back after Endeavor headbutts him, he is found weakening before he falls. It is revealed that the lone anesthetic jar, that Red Riot threw into his mouth earlier, has finally taken effect, though it took every single Hero in his way to keep him busy.
