Tropes

  • Anger Born of Worry: Most of the rest of 1-A swarm Izuku, Uraraka, Tsuyu, and Kirishima when they get back. Iida stops them, but when Izuku tells him it's okay, Iida casually adjusts his glasses.
Iida: Then, if I may...[grabs Izuku by the shoulders and starts shaking him] Do you have any idea how worried I was for all of you? It was awful! What if you never returned?
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: With the Work Studies storyline coming to a close, the episode shifts to Bakugo and Todoroki.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Midoriya is willing to surrender his One For All to help Mirio, though he didn't specify it. Mirio declines.
  • I Should Have Been Better: Uraraka quietly chastises herself over being unable to help Sir Nighteye more.
  • Mood Whiplash: Happens at least three times throughout the episode:
    • The episode opens with Shigaraki subjecting Chisaki to a Fate Worse than Death by leaving him quirkless and stealing his stuff and an anguished Chisaki lets out a Skyward Scream realising he can't do anything anymore, including curing the boss whom he put in a coma (which is a repeat of the same scene from the previous episode). Then the new intro of the season starts playing, which is a lighthearted, cheerful and whimsical one, marking the start of a breather arc, which depicts the students of Class 1-A preparing for the Cultural festival and aside from a few shots of Endeavor, Shoto and Bakugo, everyone is shown enjoying their time.
    • Midoriya decides to see Mirio before leaving the hospital. This looks like a somber moment. As he opens the door he sees Mirio cheerfully exercising with a big goofy smile on his face leading to the Stiff Upper Lip moment detailed below.
    • The other students of Class 1-A bombard Kirishima, Midoriya, Uraraka and Asui with questions but Iida steps in and tells them not to bother them as the day has been taxing physically and mentally for them. Midoriya thanks Iida but says its okay. This results in Iida pausing for a moment, then violently shaking Midoriya and yelling at him, asking if he has any idea how worried he was. Sero tells Iida to chill, the way he adviced others moments before.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: When All Might runs into Endeavor, Present Mic senses the tension and bails to "go get a cup of coffee." A flashback also shows Endeavor calling Shoto and offering to come watch him train, only for Shoto to hang up on him mid-sentence.
  • Stiff Upper Lip: Mirio lost his Permeation Quirk and his mentor Sir Nighteye, but decides that crying isn't going to fix things. He instead chooses to follow his mentor's teachings with a smile. There is also the chance that Eri can help restore his Quirk in the future when she has a better grasp of it.
