Tropes

  • An Arm and a Leg: Chisaki loses both of his arms to Compress and Shigaraki, permanently disabling his Quirk.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Shie Hassaikai are defeated, and Eri is in safe custody. Kai Chisaki is arrested but is attacked by the League of Villains and loses his arms and his prized Quirk-erasing bullets. Unfortunately, while almost all of the heroes are alive and well, though in need of recovery, Sir Nighteye is less than fortunate. He dies in the end, but not before making peace with his former partner All Might and acknowledging Midoriya's determination that allowed him to overcome the man's Foresight. Meanwhile, Mirio Togata is currently Quirkless thanks to Overhaul's weapon, but there is hope that Eri can restore his Quirk.
  • Character Death: Sir Nighteye succumbs to his injuries by the end of the episode, emphasizing that Anyone Can Die in the line of duty.
  • A Fate Worse Than Death: Chisaki's goal was to restore the Yakuza. His failure to do so serves as this after losing his arms and bullets to Shigaraki, leaving him alive but in their dust.
  • Go Out with a Smile: After making peace with All Might and happy that a bright future is possible, Sir Nighteye dies peacefully and with a smile on his face.
  • Hypocrite: Shigaraki lays it on Chisaki that he shouldn't talk about curing the world of Quirks, when he himself is using his.
  • Laser-Guided Karma:
    • Kai Chisaki suffers this twofold:
      • By abusing Eri, he is soundly beaten by Midoriya and the other Pro Heroes.
      • By killing Magne, the League of Villains take his Quirk-erasing bullets, and Compress and Shigaraki take his arms.
  • Team Rocket Wins: Shigaraki's gang were reduced to a minor role throughout the season, forced to be Overhaul's underlings. They manage to help the heroes put an end to his plans and not only avenge Magne, but take Chisaki's Quirk-erasing bullets for their own. To further twist the knife, they amputate his arms to make sure he is no longer a threat.
  • Villain Has a Point: Overhaul warned Midoriya last episode that Eri's Power Incontinence makes her Rewind Quirk uncontrollable. After taking down the villain, Midoriya suffers Eri's Quirk going out of control. Aizawa manages to disable her Quirk before she inadvertently erases him. Both heroes later conclude that she needs to practice in order to make her Quirk more stable, though difficult as she can only affect living/organic creatures.
