The episode begins the day before Orel's hunting trip, and his only role in the episode is a brief interview with the radio host before Rev. Putty's radio sermon about motherhood. The episode focuses on three of Moralton's women: Nurse Bendy, Ms. Sculptham, and Ms. Censordoll.
Nurse Bendy
"I have feel thoughts and emotions..."
Nurse Bendy comes home to a room decorated like a little girl's room. She addresses two teddy bears as 'Hubby' and 'Sonny', regarding them as her surrogate family, as she tells them about how much more 'adulterer' Principal Fakey is than her, while changing into a housewife outfit. As she prays to God over dinner, it's revealed that she is lonely and knows that everyone just regards her as a sex object, and wants people to acknowledge her as a person. After dinner, she tries to clean up a mess, only for her 'hubby' teddy bear to fall on her behind. She freaks out, thinking that even her pretend husband just wants to use her for sex, and cries in the corner.Ms. Sculptham
"Abortion?!"
Ms. Sculptham checks numerous times to make sure her door is locked. A bloody coat hanger sits on her table, and she hastily turns off the radio when the word 'abortion' comes up. As she undresses, she looks at her family tree and at the picture of herself...who used to have blond hair. The sermon is interrupted by the radio host announcing that serial rapist Cecil Creepler was found dead in his cell, much to Ms. Sculptham's horror. Between the news story on Creepler and the news articles saved, Ms. Sculptham's story comes out: she had lured Creepler to her apartment to rape her by dyeing her hair (as he preferred brunettes) and leaving her door unlocked. She feels guilty about that because she had done so so she could have sex, and still gets off to the memories of him violating her. He also managed to impregnate her, but she gave herself a coat hanger abortion.Ms. Censordoll
"I am matriarch of Moralton!"
Ms. Censordoll disapproves of Rev. Putty's sermon, and turns it off, ignoring a call from her mother to lie in bed with an egg. Soon she calls Farmer Phoneycrop to request fertilized eggs from him, reassuring him that soon the mayor would be in her back pocket, as she fiddles with figurines that look suspiciously like Clay and Orel. She finally responds to her mother, who also heard the sermon. Ms. Censordoll claims that she's more suited to talk about original sin since she's immaculate from conception, thanks to her mother removing her sexual organs from her as an infant. This left Ms. Censordoll with a god complex, convinced that the world revolves around her.Rev. Putty finishes the sermon early and spends the rest of the time mocking the radio host, who's a little person. The host mocks Putty's lack of hair.
Tropes present:
- Buffy Speak: Played for Drama with Nurse Bendy, who uses childlike words and rhymes whenever she speaks. It's heavily implied that it's a result of her regressing to an infantile mentality as a result of being sexually used and abused by every man in town.
- Darker and Edgier: To the point that it got the series cancelled.
- Downer Ending: Everyone featured in the episode is displayed as being fundamentally broken, between Nurse Bendy regressing into a Womanchild after being used for sex for so long, Ms. Sculptham being in love with her rapist and knowing full well how unhealthy it is and Ms. Censordoll pretty much having gone insane after her mother's abuse. The ending shows no sign of them getting any better; indeed, Ms. Censordoll is only getting worse. note
- Evil Feels Good: Played for Drama regarding Ms. Sculptham still deriving sexual pleasure from the memory of her rapist. She knows that what she's doing is twisted and wrong, but can't help herself from the joy that the thoughts bring her—and the guilt and shame that result when she finishes.
- Foreshadowing: Subverted on a meta level—based on comments from Word of God, Ms. Censordoll's figurines of Orel and Clay are actually Voodoo Dolls and given that this takes place the night before Clay and Orel's camping trip, this would have likely preceded The Reveal that she used voodoo to make Clay shoot Orel. This never came to pass, however, as the series was cut short before this could happen.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: Provides possibly the only joke in the episode. A Newspaper clipping shows us "Serial Rapist on the Loose, This Time it's not Orel!"
- Ms. Sculptham has a family tree showing her, her parents, and grandparents. Of particular note is her maternal grandfather, who bears an uncanny resemblance to Creepler. The implications are not pretty.
- Heroic Sacrifice: The town views Agnes Sculptham's "capture" of Cecil Creepler this way, saying that she bravely left her door unlocked and even dyed her naturally-blonde hair brown to lure him to her apartment and thus entrap him. Agnes goes along with the story and has apparently given interviews to that effect, but the truth is that she wanted Creepler to rape her.
- A God Am I: Ms. Censordoll has come to believe this—her mother forcibly removed her entire reproductive system when she was a baby, leaving Censordoll to believe that she is "immaculate from conception" and thus the "moral center of Moralton." When Reverend Putty mentions that there's only one person in the whole cosmos who is perfect (a reference to either God or Jesus), Ms. Censordoll cackles as she declares "ME!"
- No-Dialogue Episode: Ms. Sculptham's segment, in which she never speaks.
- Trauma Button: Nurse Bendy has an absolute breakdown when "Hubby" Bear accidentally falls over and lands on her bottom, as she thinks that even he just wants to use her for sex. It gets worse when the bear spills milk all over her body and face, leaving Bendy a sobbing, shattered wreck on the floor.
- For Ms. Sculptham, it's the word "abortion," largely because she performed one on herself using a coat hanger after her rapist impregnated her.
