Title: The Attila the Hun Show

Original Airdate: 10/11/1970

Guest starring: Carol Cleveland, Ian Davidson

First, an episode of The Attila the Hun Show

And now for something completely different, it's: A bunch of weirdos watching a medical examination, the Secretary of State performing a striptease, politician groupies, an infestation of gun wielding sheep, news for parrots, parliamentary news for humans, a look at the importance of the village idiot, furniture competitions, and a stupid game show contestant.

Tropes:

  • American Accents: The Attila the Hun Show is a parody of common American sitcom tropes, right down to all the actors speaking this way.
  • Big-Lipped Alligator Moment: When the scientist describes the wolf costume that the killer sheep... (cue Terry Gilliam as a viking saying, "WAS WEARING").
  • Blackface: Idle as an excruciatingly stereotypical servant who's actually named "Uncle Tom".
  • Call-Back:
    • The urban idiots that appear at the end of the Village Idiot sketch have background traits from the characters in Upper Class Twit of the Year.
    • Attila the Hun first made an appearance in the "Historical Impersonations" sketch from "Intermission".
  • Conspicuous Trenchcoat: The pervs that show up to watch the sexy lady (Carol Cleveland) getting examined by a doctor are all wearing the standard pervert trench coat.
  • Eating the Enemy: Well, that's all for Attila the Bun.
  • Hordes from the East: Invoked (with humorous intentions) in the opening narration of "The Attila the Hun Show":
"In the 5th century, as the once mighty Roman Empire crumbled, the soft underbelly of Western Europe lay invitingly exposed to the barbarian hordes to the East: Alaric the Visigoth, Gaiseric the Vandal, and Theoderic the Ostrogoth in turn swept westward in a reign of terror. But none surpassed in power and cruelty the mighty—Attila the Hun. ... Ladies and gentlemen, it's The Attila the Hun Show!"
  • Killer Sheep: Arthur X, leader of the Pennine Gang.
  • Knee-capping: The host of "Take Your Pick" offers to do this to Mrs Scum, who still insists on a blow to the head.
  • Lighter and Softer: "The Attila the Hun Show" turns the famous warlord into a Sitcom dad.
  • Meadow Run: Attila and Mrs Attila do one in the "Attila the Hun Show" intro.
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: The Village Idiots.
  • Standard Snippet: The Atilla the Hun Show uses the theme song from The Debbie Reynolds Show.
  • Uncle Tomfoolery: Attila the Hun's butler (played by Eric Idle in blackface), who is named "Uncle Tom" and very stereotypical.
  • You Can Leave Your Hat On: Terry Jones as a government minister who delivers a speech on farm prices...as a striptease.
