"The Perfect Dream" is the 11th episode of Season 4 of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the 69th in the series.
Mickey is constantly kept awake from having the perfect dream by a series of real-world disturbances.
Tropes:
- Almost Kiss: Twice Between Mickey and Minnie as a result of the noise, they finally kiss near the end.
- Berserk Board Barricade: Mickey tries to block out the noise from outside his apartment by putting his mattress over his window and boarding it in place.
- The Cameo: The Big Bad Wolf appears as a biker revving his noisy engine.
- Cartoon Conductor: Mickey conducts the noises to provide musical accompaniment for his singing.
- Crashing Dreams: As Mickey and Minnie are about to kiss in the dream, she starts barking like Pluto. This is because Pluto is barking in Mickey's room.
- Dripping Disturbance: A leaky faucet is one of the things that interrupts Mickey's dreaming, prompting him to tie the faucet in a knot.
- Mythology Gag: Mickey and Minnie's dream costumes are based on theirs from the classic short "Brave Little Tailor".
- Nightmare Face: A sleep-deprived Mickey makes a couple of these throughout the short.
- Shout-Out: In the dream sequence, Mickey and Minnie perform "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes".
- Unicorn: Mickey rides one in his dream. Later, he removes its horn and uses it like a conductor's baton.
- Vorpal Pillow: Mickey silences Goofy on his phone by covering the phone with a pillow. Goofy himself sounds like he is choking. In the final dream, Goofy has the pillow jammed in his mouth.
