"Wish upon a Coin" is the third season 3 short of the new Mickey Mouse (2013) series created by Paul Rudish for the Disney Channel and Disney.com. It's the 40th to air on the Disney Channel and put up on Disney.com, but had been shown at D23 2015 previously.

Mickey and Minnie’s wish to live happily ever after is put in danger after Pete steals all the coins from the wishing well.

Tropes:

  • Anachronism Stew: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pete are living in the same time period as Snow White and the Dwarfs, but then Pete drives a car into a modern metropolis with Mickey in hot pursuit.
  • Big Bad: Pete, who makes his fourth appearance in the series.
  • Car Fu: Subverted when Pete is driving away with a bag of stolen coins and sees Mickey standing in the middle of the road, blocking his path. Pete just casually drives around him.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Dopey throws a button into the well instead of a coin.
  • Oh, Crap!: When Pete appears out of the wishing well and steals its coins.
    • And even moreso when Mickey witnesses the unthinkable... Minnie has tripped!
  • Parody: Of Snow White, big time, almost on DreamWorks Animation levels.
  • Reality Warper: When Goofy and the Dwarves panic over the missing wishes, Dopey is seen floating around in the background.
  • Shout-Out: To Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Also contains one to Pinocchio with "When You Wish Upon A Star", three to Cinderella with "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes", Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo and the glass slippers as well as one to Mary Poppins' "A Spoonful of Sugar."
    • At one point, Goofy dresses up as Trader Sam from Jungle Cruise.
  • True Companions: After Minnie trips on a dwarf, Mickey instantly prepares to do the same.
  • World of Ham: Every character is wildly over-the-top with their deliveries in this short.

How to get across the bridge?

When Pete gets away with the wishes, Mickey gets frustrated. Then, some birds land on him, and he realizes those birds are the only way he can fly across the bridge.
