Mother unleashes Azrael's blade on the human world in an effort to get her husband's attention. Lucifer enlists Amenadiel and Maze's help to track it down before the population of LA stab each other to death with it.

- Disproportionate Retribution: Azrael's blade isn't a delicate weapon. When held by a human, it urges them to punish every slight against them by killing the offender. It only gets worse as more people are killed.
- Exact Words: In the case of the final victim (who was murdered by a woman who worked for him), Lucifer states that the victim attacked her, and that she had no choice but to defend herself. While that's true, he doesn't state when she was attacked (as it had happened years ago, and the woman had tried to forget it and move on with her life).
- Gender Flip: Lucifer tells Linda that Azrael is actually female.Linda: The Angel of Death is a chick?
- Green-Eyed Monster: Dan accuses Chloe of being jealous when she sees that Lucifer and Ella's relationship might be more than professional.
- The Grim Reaper: Linda is shocked to find that the Angel of Death exists and is, in fact, "a chick".
- Hate Plague: Azrael's blade stokes the anger of any mortal who wields it, inciting them to murder people who they feel have wronged them.
- Heroic Willpower: Dan is able to resist the effects of Azrael's blade by accepting that the problems in his life are things he caused, and that he's just using Lucifer as a scapegoat.
- Hidden Depths: Dan is able to resist the blade's influence long enough for Lucifer to take it out of his hand. Even Lucifer is impressed.
- Lost Food Grievance: Dan is furious because Lucifer keeps stealing his pudding cups.
