An old partner of Sophie's requests that the team save his daughter from a corrupt multilevel marketing scheme, but the con is complicated by Sophie's past.

Tropes stolen in this job:

  • Engineered Public Confession: Debra spends so much time trying to decipher the truth about Sophie, she completely forgets it's time for her livestream. Sophie gets her talking about the pyramid scheme while everyone is watching.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Ronald, an office drone working at Magiq Baby, has initially completely brought into the company line that Debra feeds her employees. Then Breanna subtly points out how the company's a massive pyramid scheme and Ronald slowly comes to realize that she's right and when asked, admits he wants to be a Jazz player. By lunch that very day Ronald quits and decides to pursue his dream, playing with a band outside Leverage HQ by the ned of the episode all the more happy.
  • Holding the Floor: While Debra's Living Lie Detector tripped her up, Sophie's plan was to hold Debra's complete attention for hours, making her forget about her 4 PM livestream. During which, her Evil Gloating to Sophie would be broadcast to everyone in the company.
  • Gilligan Cut: Sophie says that Breanna is going to hate her part in the con. Crash cut to Breanna working undercover as an accountant.
  • If You're So Evil, Eat This Kitten!: In order to test Sophie’s loyalty, Debra forces her to recommend the client be demoted. Sophie passes, but feels guilty about it.
  • Living Lie Detector: Debra Prosper can tell when Sophie is lying, which drastically complicates the con.
  • Shout-Out: The feds drive up in a vehicle numbered NCC-1701.
  • Watch the Paint Job: Eliot has... concerns about loaning Harry his car:
    Eliot: Not a scratch. You don't drive this thing over 55.
    Harry: You don't drive this car over 55?
    Eliot: I drive it how I— you don't drive it over 55!
  • Wham Line:
    Debra: That story about the person you left behind. It was a daughter, wasn't it?
