When the cover up of Dean Woodruff's murder is revealed, Stephanie Mulroney is arrested for murder and obstruction of justice, and her mother is charged as an accessory. They are acquitted after Regina testifies as to the pressures of being Mulroneys.

- No Celebrities Were Harmed: The Mulroneys are an aristocratic political family of Irish origin that has suffered a number of tragedies in the public eye. They sound nearly identical to the Kennedys.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: After her meeting with McCoy, Regina goes straight to Adam Schiff to get him off her back. They've known each other socially for years.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Money!: The Mulroneys do this too.
- Villain with Good Publicity: The Mulroneys again. Due to their history of philanthropy for the city of New York, all they think they have to do to get away with anything is whine about how much public good they've done. Both the jury and the Judge fall for it; and they get way with everything.
- What You Are in the Dark: Regina's mask slips early in the episode when she talks to McCoy. Her veil of gentility drops when she tells him outright that if he continues his prosecution she'll straight up destroy him.
