Ventus arrives at a castle in Enchanted Dominion, where he finds the princess Aurora sleeping. He meets the three Good Fairies, who tell him that the evil fairy Maleficent has stolen her heart and put her into an eternal sleep. Ven decides to go to her castle to retrieve Aurora's heart, and the three fairies accompany him. Along the way, they find that Maleficent has created a barrier of green flames to keep intruders out, but the fairies dispel the barrier with ease. Inside the castle, they see some monsters guarding the castle, so Ven fights them.
Deep inside the castle, they find Aurora's heart at the end of a maze. Ven frees it with his Keyblade, and the heart returns to Aurora's body in her castle. Coming into contact with the princess's heart causes him to have a memory of Aurora meeting Prince Philip. After he asked her her name, she suddenly fled, but she asked him to come meet her at the cottage that evening. On their way out of the castle, Ven and the fairies are stopped by Maleficent herself. She explains to Ven that she knows his name and about the Keyblade. She also tells him that Terra was the one who stole Aurora's heart in the first place, which Ven vehemently denies. Maleficent attacks Ven, but he manages to defeat her.
After the battle, Maleficent tries to convince him that she was telling the truth about Terra, but Aqua appears and tells him that Terra would never do such a thing. Maleficent reveals that she knows Aqua's name as well. Aqua tries to convince Ven to return home, but he recalls what the masked boy told him about Terra, so he refuses and runs off, much to Aqua's disappointment. Ven runs out of the castle, asking himself where Terra could possibly be...
