Bill gets into competitive eating after downing a plate of hot dogs in no time flat, but Dale sees Bill's new hobby as disgusting and degrading.

- Jerkass Has a Point: Throughout the episode, Dale has been trying to dissuade Bill so he doesn't enter the competition, but there's a reason for that. As a teenager, Dale thought he was one of the popular kids because he won a dare that involved eating bugs, until he heard one pretty girl call him a freak. It was at that moment he realized the kids never saw him as cool but only as a freak show for them to gawk at and he doesn't want Bill to go through the same thing he did. Sure enough, during the competition, a pretty woman in the audience calls the competitors freaks and Bill realizes Dale is right, so he forfeits.
- Red Baron: Kahn is a huge fan of Laotian competitive eater Ken Irrawaddy, AKA "The Laotian Commotion".
- We Need a Distraction: Peggy, not wanting Bobby to get involved in any kind of eating competitions because he's already fat, does everything in her power to make sure he doesn't know a thing about it.
