Recap / Kaeloo S 3 E 30 Lets Play Replicating

Go To

When Stumpy's friends are too busy to play with him, he makes a wish which allows him to clone himself. He and the clones amuse themselves by annoying everyone else.

"Let's Play Replicating" contains the following tropes:

  • Batman Gambit: Two consecutive ones! Kaeloo, Quack Quack and Mr. Cat make a plan to get rid of the clones. They claim that a package came in the mail for the real Stumpy, and only the real Stumpy can get it. All the Stumpy clones start fighting over who gets it. The real Stumpy opens a Portal Door to another dimension and lies that Ursula is on the other side. The clones run through and then Stumpy shuts the door, trapping them there forever.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Kaeloo, Quack Quack and Mr. Cat hatch a plan where they claim that Stumpy got a package in the mail from Ursula and only the real Stumpy can sign it, so the original will get rid of the clones. The plan works, but they then realize that they forgot what would happen once Stumpy asked for the package. At the end of the episode, Stumpy punishes Kaeloo and Mr. Cat for tricking him, though Quack Quack gets away.
  • Disproportionate Retribution:
    • Quack Quack refuses to play with Stumpy because he happens to be on a date at the moment; Stumpy and the clones crash the date and ruin it for Quack Quack and Eugly by making rude jokes and harassing the couple.
    • Downplayed with Stumpy and Mr. Cat. When Stumpy asks Mr. Cat to play with him, Mr. Cat shoots him in the face with a bazooka, with all the hurt he really gets being Ash Face. Later in the episode, Stumpy clones himself. He and the clones destroy Mr. Cat's car by crashing a bunch of other cars into it (while he's inside the car), drop a fridge on his head, and ruin his vacation to the beach.
  • Empathic Environment: When everyone else is too busy doing their own thing to play with Stumpy, Stumpy becomes upset and then it suddenly starts raining.
  • Expendable Clone: Stumpy sends the clones through a Portal Door into another dimension forever, and nobody cares. Even before this, Mr. Cat contemplated killing them because they were annoying and hurting everyone.
  • Friend Versus Lover: Stumpy wants to play a board game with Quack Quack, but Quack Quack is on a date with Eugly and therefore ignores Stumpy. Later, Stumpy manages to clone himself and he and the clones tease Quack Quack and Eugly until Eugly runs away crying so they can hang out with Quack Quack.
  • Interrupted Bath: Kaeloo is taking a shower, but Stumpy flushes all the toilets at once and the house runs out of water, so Kaeloo's shower is cut short.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: At the end of the episode, Kaeloo and Mr. Cat are forced to stay up all night to play with Stumpy.
  • Karma Houdini: Quack Quack is not punished for his part in Kaeloo and Mr. Cat's scheme.
  • Me's a Crowd: Stumpy is supernaturally granted several clones of himself.
  • Shower Scene: Kaeloo is shown taking a showernote . It lasts for a few seconds before several clones of Stumpy flush all the toilets they can find and the water runs out, forcing her to cut her shower short.
  • Tempting Fate: Mr. Cat is driving his car and remarks on how relaxing it is. Just then, Stumpy and several clones of himself, who are angry at Mr. Cat, drive up in several more cars and crash all their cars into his.
