Three years have passed since Michael's death.
The wedding Jane and Matelio were prepping for is Rogelio and Darci's! Only it was being filmed for their reality show, and their actual relationship has soured considerably. Xo — now with a flourishing dance studio — and Bruce have moved in together, but Xo and Ro's relationship has been strained by her negative portrayal on said reality show. Petra and Rafael deal with property issues a few days before the Marbella's kid-friendly reopening thanks to the neighboring hotel owner, Chuck (who is also Petra's sometime squeeze). Rafael has a new girlfriend, Abbey, the CEO of a greeting card company. Jane and Rafael try to handle Mateo's behavioral problems, and decide to get him an aide. Jane has written a novel about Michael, and is offered a book deal.

- Proscenium Reveal: Darci and Rogelio's wedding is played as if it were real at the very start of the episode — until it is quickly revealed to just be for their show.
- Psycho Ex-Girlfriend: Thanks to an In-Universe dose of Manipulative Editing, Xo is portrayed as the "Evil Ex" on The De La Vega-Factor Factor.
- Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Petra threatens to report Chuck's hotel for serving lobster out of season, but he's not worried because his uncle would be in charge of enforcing it.
- Time-Passage Beard: Rafael has thicker facial hair three years later.
