Recap / Jackie Chan Adventures S 2 E 2 The Warrior Incarnate

Go To

Jackie borrows a statue of Lo Pei, the warrior who turned Shendu into stone and hide his talismans around the world from the museum for clues about the remaining talismans locations. Jade accidentally breaks it, but uses the horse talisman to rebuild it and the rat talisman to bring it to life to question where he hid the talismans. Shendu sends the Dark Hand to retrieve the statue for the same reason.

  • Animate Inanimate Object: Jade uses the Rat Talisman to bring the Lo Pei statue to life.
  • Brick Joke: Lo Pei doing a thumbs up. He first sees it as some sort of magical gesture and when he returns to being a statue, he gives one as a sign to Jade that he'll be okay.
  • Car Fu: Tohru slams a taxicab on Lo Pei.
  • Cool Board: Jade rides one in the episode, and it kickstarts the episode's plot when she loses control and it destroys Lo Pei's statue.
  • Improvised Weapon: Jackie uses umbrellas to fend off the Dark Hand when they attack him with swords in Uncle's shop.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: The episode begins with Valmont trying to reassure Shendu that the Enforcers are spending every waking moment looking for the Talismans, only for Finn and Ratso to walk in and squabble over a newspaper.
  • Irony: Lo Pei turned Shendu into a statue, and now a terracotta of the late warrior has come to life. Valmont lampshades the irony to Shendu who's not amused.
  • Near-Villain Victory: Shendu had nearly every talisman but orders the Dark Hand to get the Rat from Lo Pei. Somewhat justified as without the Rat Talisman Shendu would still be stuck as a statue and unable to use any of the other Talismans.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Lo Pei refuses to mention Shendu's name. This could've saved the Chans and Captain Black some trouble in the season 1 finale.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Lo Pei's energy scrolls.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: How Lo Pei sees through the Dark Hand's ruse. As soon as Finn and Ratso grab Jade, he points out that sacred warriors wouldn't hurt children.
