While the heroes, especially Will, are still reeling from everything that happened with Jewel, the Mountain Demon Chi awakens in Quebec, kicking off another fight with the Knights of Vengeance.
- Behemoth Battle: At one point while fighting Frost, who has become a giant thanks to the Mountain Demon Chi, Irma forms a giant water construct to face him with.
- Hidden Depths: Cornelia turns out to be fluent in French thanks to her father's frequent business trips to France.
- Hypocrisy Nod: Will notes the hypocrisy of being mad at her mother for secretly dating Dean when she's keeping being a Guardian a secret from her.
- Immediate Sequel: This chapter picks up the next day after the previous one, when everyone (but especially Will) is still dealing with Jewel's existence and sudden death.
- It's All My Fault: Will takes Jewel's death the hardest, blaming herself for being unable to save her.
- Kick the Dog: Drago mocks Jewel's death, and threatens to kill Will's other loved ones, in order to use her grief and anger to get in her head and throw her off her game.
- Sequel Hook: At the end of the chapter, the heroes decide to take a vacation for some well-deserved respite from all the stress they've had to deal with lately, with Nerissa planning to come after them, all of which sets up the next chapter.
- Yin-Yang Bomb: Using the bond between them created by Jewel's spirit, Jade and Will manage to combine their powers and help defeat Frost, who has been empowered by Po Kong's demon chi.
