Recap / Isekai Quartet S 2 E 3 Uh Oh Detention

Go To

After the previous episode's events, Kazuma, Aqua, Grantz, Koenig and Neumann are put into detention - with Kyouhukou, who subjects them to something that leaves them all in a state of horrified shock. Unwilling to let their classmates suffer through such punishment anymore, Emilia and Subaru ask Rerugen about it: the assistant teacher tells them that doing a good deed should be enough to convince the director to spare them further punishment.

Megumin comes up with a plan: during the next chemistry class, they will cause an "accident" with the Bunsen burners, giving the punished students a chance to fix things. When Roswaal tells them to turn the fire on, Weiss puts a shield around one of them and Megumin summons Explosion within the shield. Tanya realizes what the group is doing, but Ainz convinces her to let them act to help their classmates.

When the explosion happens, it takes out the table the burner was on - along with several pipes, causing a flood to rush through the school. Principal Rudensdorf runs into the punished students and asks them to help stop the flood, promising to lift the detention if they do. While Grantz, Koenig and Neumann use their magic to shield certain points (namely, the principal's office), Aqua and Kazuma work together to send the water out of the building. Rudensdorf, grateful, follows through his promise and lets the students go.

Tropes

  • Even Evil Has Standards: The mere presence of Kyouhukou in this universe is enough to frighten the other Villain Protagonists from Overlord. They do not actually meet him in the episode. Just being in the same school is enough to give them a bad feeling.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Kyouhukou's punishment for disobedient students is so terrible that even DARKNESS, who delights in any form of physical or emotional abuse inflicted on her, is horrified by it.
