Start of the Second Year Arc Summary

Chapter 214: Welcome to Babyls!

Being provided Detection Warding Glasses from Sullivan and Opera, Iruma heads off to school to begin his second year at Babyls. Meanwhile at Babyls, a first-year student named Eita is seen arriving for the entrance ceremony, and is left amazed by how big and incredible Babyls looks. Before he could message his sister about his arrival, Eita's interrupted by the student council doing their job greeting the new first-year students and yelling for them to head to the auditorium. Amazed by the sight of the student council, Eita remains excited to see Iruma, the Rank 5 (He) demon who became the leader of the Abnormal class. Though he remains worried that Iruma might come off scary. Suddenly, the Abnormal students all start arriving at school one after another, which given the misfits' accomplishments during their first year, the first-year students all remain excited at the sight of them.

Eita's unable to handle the incredible sight of the Abnormal students, and starts to feel dizzy to the point of almost falling over. However, he's grabbed by Iruma, who Eita doesn't recognize due to the Detection Warding Glasses. The two of them take a seat on a nearby bench, which Iruma provides Eita a bottle of water. Eita becomes a bit gloomy mentioning how he must look quite pathetic not being able to handle the sight of the Abnormal class, and that he only barely passed the entrance exam. He questions if he will actually be able to survive here, which Iruma reassures Eita explaining how he was also someone who was once really anxious during the start of his first year. However, Iruma states that he came to treasure Babyls after spending time with many demons, and that in the end, he's glad to have attended this school. Thus, Iruma figures that Eita will do just fine, and will come to like Babyls just as he did.

As Iruma gets up, Eita notices the two stripes on Iruma's sleeve signifying that he's talking to a second-year. Eita proceeds to thank his senior for the advice, much to Iruma's surprise feeling enjoyment at playing out his upperclassman role. Feeling better, Eita is about to ask who Iruma is only to be caught by surprise seeing all the Abnormal students walk up to them as they've been looking for Iruma. Thus, Eita is shocked to realize that the one who helped him out is the infamous Iruma. As Iruma rejoins his class, he provides Eita one last goodbye stating that everyone at school is nice enough to help out, and properly welcomes Eita to school. Following Iruma's departure, Eita's unable to believe what he just experienced, and feels the need to message his sister about it. On the other end of the phone, his sister turns out to be Eiko, who's unable to believe that her little brother spoke to her crush.

Chapter 215: A New Year Starts

In the Babyls auditorium, the new first-year students have all gathered for the entrance ceremony. The over-excited Silvia Sabnock sits in the audience yelling out her enthusiasm of finally living out her dream of going to Babyls, which the surrounding students are unable to handle her excitement. She asks the first-year girl next to her if the entrance ceremony will be a test of skills. In return, the girl answers back that it's doubtful, and advises Silvia to keep it down as the ceremony's about to start. Suddenly, Kalego orders everyone silent as Sullivan steps forward to provide his speech as the school principal. While Sullivan does his roll at first congratulating the new students for their successful enrollment as first-years, he ends up turning his speech into praising his own grandson, Iruma, for beginning his second year. His actions confuses everyone to the point of Kalego ordering his fellow teachers to get Sullivan off the stage.

Silvia proudly admits to the girl next to her that she's met Iruma before, which comes as a surprise to her when the girl mentions that she's met Iruma before as well. Kalego then announces for the first-year representative who achieved top score in the entrance exam to provide the opening greeting for their class. The girl that Silvia's been talking to stands up, who turns out to be Kerori's younger sister, Chima Crocell. Despite her small height to the point of needing a box to reach the microphone, Chima's speech goes off without a hitch. Following the entrance ceremony, Silvia befriends Chima congratulating the latter for pulling off such a thoughtful speech. Suddenly, Ameri appears before Chima as the student council president who's starting her third year at Babyls.

Like Silvia, Ameri offers her congratulations for pulling off the opening speech (but also because Ameri feels like she owes her for what happened to Chima during the Evidol Games). However, Chima surprises Ameri when the former claims that she won't lose to the latter. Ameri gets excited thinking that this is a challenge from Chima to try to surpass her as the student council president, but as Iruma by walks them, and decides to praise Ameri's outfit, an infatuated Chima quickly zooms in front of Iruma to greet him, much to the confusion of Ameri. As Silvia greets Iruma to reveal to him that she's also enrolled into Babyls, Chima displays her obvious crush to Iruma when he praises her haircut. Meanwhile, the sight of Chima having such an obvious crush on Iruma comes as a huge shock to Ameri given that she also likes him.

Chapter 216: The Biggest Reason

Chima thinks back to not being able to truly understand why Kerori started to sparkle and went down the path of being an Evidol. When the Evidol Games came around, Chima was left in a state of gloom feeling bad about her actions causing Kerori to lose the Cavalry Battle game. However, she's reassured by Iruma, (as Irumi at the time) claiming that Kerori just has a lot on her mind at the moment, and will eventually talk with Chima about what happened. After Kerori and Chima have their sister moment during the following break, Iruma helps Chima out by wiping away the latter's tears. Suddenly, Iruma notices that Chima's eyes are pretty like ice, which catches her attention.

As Iruma continues to praise the look of Chima's ice eyes, she thinks to herself that she's going through an encounter that came out of nowhere and captured her heart. She thinks over how the moment with Iruma felt like her desire had become exposed by an unbelievably huge strike. As Iruma claims that Chima at the moment is sparkling, she's lovestruck so hard as if she was stabbed and knocked back. At the conclusion of the Evidol Games, the happy Chima is seen congratulating Team Kuromu for their victory. Chima also announces to Kerori that she's decided to enroll into Babyls, much to Kerori's surprise. After the Evidol Games, Chima spends the remaining time informing her mother of her decision, studying for the entrance exam, and changing her appearance to be more suitable for school. She's shown during the entrance exam showing off her powerful ice magic, and passes with flying colors.

Returning to the present, Chima recaps how she did just like what Iruma pulled off during his entrance ceremony, much to Iruma's amazement. She then grabs hold of Iruma's hand claiming in a serious manner that since she's found her sparkle and desire, she will take the #1 spot, much to Ameri's shock and Silvia's amazement. As Chima and Silvia head off, Ameri's unable to handle what she just witnessed. Iruma tells Ameri that he hopes Chima will fulfill her desire, which shocks Ameri even further unable to believe what he just said and complains that he's always like this. Meanwhile, Chima's seen proudly walking down the hallway while Silvia keeps up with her.
