Post-Thirteen's Dinner Chapter Summary

Chapter 204: Beneath the Sunlight

With the 13th month and its Deviler festivities over, the new school year at Babyls begins. Iruma and his class also return to school having officially become second-year students. Other students return to school completely refreshed after having fun and relieving their stress during Deviler, but for the Abnormal class, Kalego punishes his students for continuing to fool around, and not taking things seriously as they should be as demons at Rank 4 (Daleth). Azz however remains excited having heard about Iruma's invitation to the Thirteen's Dinner, and believes that this means that Iruma's on the path to become Demon King. Though, Iruma denies it claiming that he was just there accompanying grandpa Sullivan. Azz then shows off the school supplies he gathered up that he and his friends are going to need for the second school year where they'll be taking more practical classes to learn spells, which gets Iruma and Clara excited. However, Clara mentions another big thing they're going to be dealing with: freshmen.

Iruma gets excited at the thought of interacting as the second-year senior to his first-year juniors, but Clara points out the problem that the first-years won't take him seriously if he doesn't act like a proper upper student. Thus, Clara gets Iruma and Azz to play a game with her where they pretend to act like juniors and seniors to each other. During the game, it ends up being a problem for Iruma and Azz where Iruma's speaking is too scared and stiff as the senior to juniors Azz and Clara, and Azz ends up struggling being unable to handle junior Iruma happily greeting him. Attempting to bring out Azz's serious persona, Iruma tries to get Azz to remember that there was a time early on where he actually displayed anger towards him during their first-year opening ceremony, but Azz ends up remembering it differently as if Iruma's always been great. It's the same case with Clara regarding her first meeting with Iruma, which confuses Iruma as to why they're acting like their first meetings went off with flying colors.

Once it's Clara's turn to act as the senior for their game, she goes about greeting her juniors, and goes down a long list in a serious manner of what they should and shouldn't do as Babyls students. Iruma and Azz start to catch on that her energy as the big sister of the Valac household is kicking in, and realize that Clara is already a natural at being the senior compared to them. Following the game, the three of them go about playing dress up to come up with a proper uniform to wear in front of the first-years, but the attire Iruma wears ends up looking mismatched and all over the place, which causes Azz and Clara to burst out laughing. In the end, Iruma is just happy about the fun he's having with the two of them, and that it doesn't matter what the freshmen think of them as it's just going to be another fun year as long as the three of them remain together, which Azz and Clara happily accept. Shortly after, Kalego and many other teachers and students find the exhausted Iruma, Azz and Clara resting under a tree, much to Kalego's annoyance that his students are slacking off.
