- Ambiguous Situation: What's going on with Yusaku? Is he brainwashed and is Ai doing it just for his protection or for something even worse? How much does Ai know about Specter's situation?
- Catapult Nightmare: Ryoken wakes up from his nightmare this way, having just seen an executioner about to stab Specter in the heart with a great knife.
- Dramatic Irony: Ash hopes he'll get to find info on Gladion's situation. Unless Nanu knows about the Infinity Train, he won't for a long time...
- Everyone Has Standards:
- The author makes a note that for all the torture and nightmares she writes, she hates electrical torture and only uses it as symbolism.
- When Ryugen notes that he would've killed Gladion if he had the chance, as opposed to his brother accepting the loss, Gaim notes that they're rabbits, not savages.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing:
- Before the Wham Line, the person the White Gestalt meet in the fog is named Alex Shepherd.
- The executioner in Ryoken's nightmare was about to kill Specter with a great knife. What's Red Pyramid Head's signature weapon called again?
- Late-Arrival Spoiler: Ai and Roboppy's SOLtis forms are big spoilers for Season 3 of VRAINS.
- Metaphorically True: When Lillie remembers Mallow's words, she questions if the "bad place" was her mental state of being that has her lashing out at others. She's technically right since that "bad place" is what usually causes the Train to pick people up.
- Mood Whiplash: After Ai seems quite possessive of a brainwashed (?) Yusaku, Roboppy shouts "All aboard the Ai-train! Choo-choo!"
- Ominous Fog: The White Gestalt ends up in a car filled with this. And it's not just any car with fog. It's THE Fog Car.
- Wham Line:
- When Kisaragi notes that Tokio is still needed for Project Solitaire, Ryugen questions if Kisaragi removed all of the triggers in his head. Kisaragi just replies: "Not everything..."
- The final line of the chapter, and Act 1, reveals the familiar sight for those who remember the terrors of Blossoming Trail: Welcome to Silent Hill
- Wham Shot: Ai and Roboppy in their SOLtis forms in Yusaku's apartment and Yusaku is under Ai's control.
