Recap / If Mario Was In Animal Crossing

Go To

Mario tries to live a new life, the animal crossing way.

Thanks to a plane crash, Mario gets stranded in an Animal Crossing village and has to live like a villager to survive.

  • Bait-and-Switch: Mario reads a recipe book that says a Froggy Chair is built with 1 frog and 1 chair, before the scene shows him stalking Lily with an axe. Smash Cut to him building the Froggy Chair before the camera zooms out to show Lily is just helping him build it.
    • Lily then walks away, just before a muffled voice from inside the chair identifies itself as her father, who screams for help before being shushed by Mario.
  • Coming in Hot: The episode begins with Mario's plane crashing due to him thinking it would be a good idea to fire a rocket launcher inside of it.
  • Cranky Landlord: Tom Nook overcharges on every home inside the village and is willing to destroy people's homes without consent.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Mario fires a rocket launcher at Rover because the latter asked his gender.
  • Explosive Stupidity: Mario fires a rocket launcher in an airplane. It goes as well as you'd expect.
  • The Power of Creation: Having a construction permit is treated as this, with Mario being able to spawn giant boulders, froggy chairs and statues everywhere upon being given the paper.
  • Shockingly Expensive Bill: Tom Nook sells a "house" to Mario, with it just being a cardboard box with an included lantern and radio. The cost of this "house" is 1 million bells.
