A new powder supplement seems to have instant benefits for the group, but Freddie’s devotion to the product puts his future at risk after Carly discovers it’s a multi-level marketing scam.

- The Bus Came Back: Griffin from "iDate a Bad Boy" returns in this episode. Carly thinks he wants to get back together, but he just wants to indoctrinate her into the MLM. Truth in Television in the context of MLMs. It's common for old acquaintances or distant family friends to come out of the hiding and attempt to recruit you to the pyramid scheme they're indoctrinated with.
- Con Man: Griffin is now part of a multi-level marketing scam and is trying to get Carly to endorse it on iCarly. He's also responsible for Freddie quitting his job and wasting all his money on Sand that he couldn't sell. And Griffin knew exactly what he was doing.
- Edible Theme Naming: Millicent names her new fish "Donut".
- Failure Is the Only Option: Freddie has almost saved up enough money to move out of his mom's place. He ends up spending it all on Sand and quits his job in order to have more time to sell it.
- First Pet Story: Millicent asks Freddie for a dog. He says no since he believes a dog is too much responsibility for her. He compromises by letting her get a fish instead. Millicent does a pretty good job taking care of Donut.
- I Ate WHAT?!: The "Sand" that Carly, Freddie and Spencer are using is fish food. They're not happy when they find out what they've been consuming.
- Placebo Effect: The "Sand" that Carly, Freddie and Spencer have been taking is really just fish food. Meaning that Carly's calmness, Freddie's bravery, and Spencer's sensitivity were just placebos. Freddie and Spencer are thrilled however, as Freddie was able to stand up to Millicent on his own and although he blew all his money, he realizes that he's an entrepreneur at heart and is ready to start his next business. Spencer is also pleased because he realizes that he really is sensitive after all.
- Ponzi: The multi-level marketing scam that Griffin tries to pull Carly into.
- Take This Job and Shove It: Harper gets fed up with her Skybucks job and quits (Though she remains on good terms with her former boss). Freddie also quits his tech support job.
