Kellerman, P.I.: Part 2

Directed By: Jay Tobias
Story By: Tom Fontana and Eric Overmyer
Teleplay By: Sean Whitesell

Debbie agrees to plead guilty to involuntary manslaughter and testify against Craig. This doesn't sit right with Falsone, who still thinks Debbie is the one who killed her baby. Eventually, Kellerman agrees.

This episode contains examples of:

  • Call-Back: When Falsone and Kellerman get together at the end, Falsone brings up the double stabbing Kellerman and Munch caught.
  • Did I Mention It's Christmas?: Though there are Christmas decorations, and Christmas music plays in a couple of scenes, it otherwise doesn't figure into the plot.
  • Downer Ending: Craig is found guilty of first-degree murder even though he's innocent, and is Driven to Suicide because of that, and the fact Debbie lied and said she wouldn't betray him. Not only that, but Danvers tells Falsone the tape he has of the messages Debbie left Craig isn't enough to get her plea bargain voided, so she gets away scot-free. About the only good thing that happens is Falsone and Kellerman reach an understanding.
  • Driven to Suicide: Craig kills himself after Debbie testifies him and he's found guilty of first-degree murder.
  • Drowning My Sorrows: Falsone goes to a bar to have a drink twice - once after he's unable to convince Craig Debbie is going to testify against him, and the other time after he finds out Craig killed himself.
  • Easily Forgiven: In-Universe - When Bayliss tells Falsone he's forgiven Kellerman even after getting shot, Falsone can't believe it.
  • Fille Fatale: Debbie convinces Craig that she will protect him, then holds to her plea bargain and blames him for the infanticide.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Kellerman anonymously passes along a tip to Falsone about Debbie leaving messages for Craig to hang in there, even though she was planning to testify against him. Kellerman denies this when Falsone thanks him for the tip, but not very convincingly.
  • "Not So Different" Remark: Falsone tells Craig like him, he got his girlfriend pregnant at a young age. The difference was, Falsone married her (though of course they got divorced).
  • Rugged Scar: When Mike and Shepherd ask about Kellerman, Gharty angrily shows his scar from when he got shot.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Played with, and averted ultimately. When Kellerman and Stivers are getting into a heated argument over his shooting Luther and the Collateral Damage that resulted, he grabs her arm. After they finish their argument, Stivers starts to walk away, but comes back and tells Kellerman, "And by the way, don't ever touch me again."
