After being shown up by The Joker while attempting to steal a nuclear warhead, Harley decides she needs a crew.

Tropes:

  • Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Harley's goal throughout the episode is getting past the perception that women can't be better supervillains than men.
  • Brick Joke: Early in the episode, Harley briefly mentions she wanted to use a warhead to blackmail Gotham into naming a highway after her. At the end of the episode she accomplished this goal.
  • Cool and Unusual Punishment: The Justice League sealed the Queen of Fables in the U.S. Master Tax Guide when they defeated her.
  • Country Matters: Dr. Psycho lands in hot water for calling Wonder Woman and Giganta this.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Of the sexist variety. Instead of being thrown in jail like any other male supervillain, the Queen of Fables was made an example of because she was a female supervillain. Whether this is actually true or if she was really that dangerous is unclear, as she admits she embellishes her stories to make them sound better.note
  • Even Evil Has Standards: The Legion of Doom dumps Doctor Psycho (in a live press conference) after he says the c-word two times. Luthor even outright says his use of said word doesn't represent their "brand of evil".
  • Flipping the Bird: During Dr. Psycho's guest appearance on Tawny Young's talk show, he gets flipped off by an audience member (who uses both middle fingers) and his wife Giganta (who does so during her tirade on how horribly he's treated her).
  • For the Evulz: Why was Felix Faust sending his goons through a portal to hell where they would definitely die? No reason apparently.
  • A Glass in the Hand: Upon seeing the TV report of Harley getting a crew and successfully robbing Maxie Zeus, Joker crushes the glass he is holding. And then he Shoots the Television.
  • Gratuitous Russian: In the opening heist, when Harley kicks a mook out of the train, she tells him "Dasvidaniya, suka." KGBeast asks if she knows Russian, and she clarifies the only two phrases she can say are the former and "Is this gluten free?"
  • Immediate Self-Contradiction:
    • Harley says that the Joker only succeeded because he has a bunch goons who do everything he says. The Joker indignantly denies this, then...
Joker: Goons, throw her off the train.
      Goons: Whatever you say, boss!
    • Doctor Psycho refuses to join Harley's crew because he's a member of the Legion of Doom. Then Lex shows up on the news to announce he's being kicked out, and Doctor Psycho accepts her offer on the spot.
  • Irony: Dr. Psycho, a He-Man Woman Hater who got fired from the Legion of Doom because he was too sexist even by their standards, ends up working for Harley, a female supervillain. He rapidly affirms it's not due to Harley being a woman and that working for her will help repair his image.
  • I Work Alone: Ivy refuses to join Harley's crew for this reason, though Frank forces her to admit that the real reason is she doesn't want to suffer the same fate as the Queen of Fables.
  • Make an Example of Them: The Justice League sealing the Queen of Fables in the U.S. Master Tax Guide instead of being thrown in jail like any other male supervillain is seen by villains as a message to what happens to female supervillains who strive to be better than their male contemporaries.
  • Mythology Gag: Not Harley and Joker's first hostile disagreement with a nuclear bomb involved.
  • Pass the Popcorn: Harley's quite happy watching Doctor Psycho and Clayface (in the shape of Psycho) fighting each other.
  • Pet the Dog: When the Joker's minions throw Harley out of the train into the snow, they throw her boots and baseball bat to her as well.
  • Shout-Out: When Harley visits UTI to find henchmen, if you pause on the screen where they are showing information about Blaze, you'll see that it mentions that he climbed the Aggro Crag. A reference to the '90s Nickelodeon game show GUTS.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial: Doctor Psycho definitely isn't joining Harley to rebuild his shattered image.
  • Two-Keyed Lock: Parodied. The door to the nuclear warhead is protected by two keys on either side that have to be turned at the same time. With great effort, Harley manages to stretch herself enough to turn the keys with her hands and feet, only to realize there's a third key above the door. Then the Joker walks in with three goons who get the door open easily.
  • Unreliable Narrator: The Queen of Fables embellishes her story about the Justice League defeating her minions, which Harley calls her on. Fables doesn't deny it.
  • Worth It: Ivy's assessment of Harley's carried-out plan to steal Maxie Zeus's gold medals, use them to buy a nuclear warhead, and threaten the mayor's office in order to get a highway named after her.
  • You Have GOT to Be Kidding Me!: Harley has this reaction to all the grunts at the bar joining Kite Man's gang over her.
Harley: I do not fucking believe this.
