Harley attempts to show the Legion of Doom she can make it on her own.

Tropes:

  • Abhorrent Admirer: Kite Man quickly becomes infatuated with Ivy, much to her annoyance.
  • Adaptational Wimp: Harley is usually supposed to be immune to tranquilizers, thanks to Ivy. Penguin takes her down with one dart. Either that immunity is not in this series, or a Foreshadowing that someone (meaning Scarecrow, due to what he does in later episodes) is working on making tranqs that work on Harley and then Ivy.
  • Break Them by Talking: When Penguin gives his nephew the chance to kill Harley for wrecking the Bar Mitzvah event he set up, Harley, trained and competent psychiatrist that she is, attacks his teenage insecurities to make him realize that he isn't emotionally mature or hardened enough to go through with killing somebody. The boy ends up breaking down in tears and exclaiming that he just wanted an action figure set. Afterwards, Harley stops a fight that had her severely outmatched by pointing out to Bane, Scarecrow, Two-Face and Penguin that Joker is abusive towards them.
  • Chekhov's Gun: Ivy carries a small vial of her pheromones just in case, and describes the effects it does. So today it gets swiped, used, and Ivy has to fix the mess.
  • Counterfeit Cash: Harley breaks into the vault, only to find fake cash with Joshua's face.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Bane unsurprisingly completely manhandles Kite Man.
  • Distinction Without a Difference: Ivy does not carry around a love potion. It's distilled pheromones which make men fall in love with her then kills them.
Frank and Harley: Right, a love potion.
  • Even Evil Has Standards:
    • Harley, Ivy, and Frank love Howie Mandel and are horrified the Joker blew him up.
    • Ivy is horrified that Kite Man gave her love potion to Joshua's nerd friends and went out of her way to give them the antidote.
    • Bane calls out Joker for disrespecting the Bar Mitzvah, an important milestone for Penguin's nephew.
    • Scarecrow and Two-Face agree with Bane when he says the things Joker says about him are hurtful.
  • Evil Is Petty:
    • Joker hijacks Howie Mandel's show to quash any rumors about Harley breaking up with him, which Howie had brought up on his last show, then blows Howie up. It's likely Joker knows Harley is fond of the show and picked it specifically to get back at her.
    • Bane is said to have blown up Gotham Stadium. A Cutaway Gag shows he did this because he got the team wrong on a trivia question.
  • Flight of Romance: Kite Man intends this when he takes Ivy to her apartment on his kite. Though she still thinks he's a loser, she admits the flight was nice.
  • Go Through Me: Ivy does this to protect Harley from Joker. Before he can shoot her, his contractors call and he decides to take a rain check to deal with them.
  • Harmless Villain: Kite Man, whose only power is a kite on his back. He even admits a cab would be faster. The only people he manages to hurt are a little girl he keeps accidentally whacking with his kite and the kids he drugs with Ivy's pheromones as a prank, not realizing the lethal after-effects.
  • I Shall Taunt You: Harley taunts Penguin's nephew so he'll lose the nerve to shoot her, buying time for Ivy to return.
  • Impossible Mission: Harley gets the idea to rob the Gotham Mint to prove herself to the Legion of Doom. Ivy points out the Mint is so confident in their security that they actually rent out their atrium to the Legion. Harley does it anyway, but screws up and accidentally breaks into a fake vault set up for the Bar Mitzvah.
  • Improbable Aiming Skills: Using his umbrella gun, Penguin shoots a bullet right down the barrel of a gun Harley is wielding.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When the Penguin joins in on the brawl between Harley and Ivy against Two-Face and Scarecrow, Ivy decides that they need to escape. Harley wants to continue the fight and thinks that Kite Man could help them out... only to see Bane beat Kite Man up.
  • Intimate Healing: Ivy's antidote requires her to ingest it then have her saliva interact with that of the victim, which in Layman's Terms means she has to kiss a bunch of underage nerds. She stresses that it's just a delivery system and they'll still be sexless nerds after she's done.
  • Mythology Gag: Bane attends Trivia Night at a bar. He's asked which football team has won the most games at the Gotham Stadium, which he guesses was the Dallas Cowboys. When he's told it was actually the Pittsburgh Steelers, he vows to blow up the stadium. In The Dark Knight Rises, Bane does indeed blow up Gotham Stadium during a Gotham Rogues game. The Gotham Rogues are played by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the film.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Harley, Ivy, and Kite Man are forced into a fight against Two-Face, Scarecrow, and Bane near the end of the party. Harley and Ivy are quick to pick Two-Face and Scarecrow respectively, thus forcing Kite Man to fight Bane. Later, Harley thinks that Kite Man could help them win... only to see a grinning Kite Man in a headlock and having his teeth punched out by Bane. All of the fighters sans Joker literally take a second to witness the one-sided beatdown.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Harley once she realizes she really hasn't broken into a vault, but ruined Penguin's surprise for Joshua.
    • Kite Man gets one when he realises his opponent in the brawl is Bane, who promptly loads up on Venom and gets even bigger, sending Kite Man from Oh, Crap! to This Is Gonna Suck.
  • Ready for Lovemaking: Kite Man sets himself up in Ivy's bed when they go to her apartment for the antidote, having massively misread the situation.
  • A Real Man Is a Killer: Penguin tries to have his nephew kill Harley as a Bar Mitzvah present, but she so thoroughly emasculates him that he can't bring himself to pull the trigger.
  • Skewed Priorities: The party-goers are more upset that Harley ruined the Bar Mitzvah than her crippling several improv actors, which earns a shrug.
  • Something We Forgot:
    • In the opening, Joker slaps a bomb on Howie Mandel while mocking Harley on live TV, causing her to smash the TV in response to the latter. After she resolves to crash the Legion of Doom party to show him up, her phone beeps and she realizes that Howie blew up while they weren't paying attention.
    • After the party, Frank points out that the infected kids are still in the other room, and are starting to root to the floor.
  • Stealth Pun: The Joker — a comedy-themed villain — tries the chicken but complains it's too rubbery. In other words, he got a "rubber chicken".
  • Transflormation: Poison Ivy's love potion slowly turns men into trees. Several nerds at the party get infected thanks to Kite Man.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Bane, Scarecrow, and Two-Face aren't doing anything villainous, they're just attending Penguin's nephew's Bar Mitzvah.
  • Virgin-Shaming: Pretty much everyone does this to Penguin's nephew, mocking him because he's never "finger blasted" a girl.
  • When She Smiles: Ivy gives a small but genuinely touched smile when Kite Man compliments her eyes and smile.
