Sniffles' new device allows him to enter TV shows in his dreams. However this proves to be disastrous once Lumpy takes control over the TV remote.
"Dream Job" contains the following:
- Accidental Murder: Lumpy kills Sniffles seven times in his dreams without even realizing it.
- And I Must Scream: Sniffles' situation leads to this due to the fact that he doesn't actually die in his dreams. To make things worst, he is traumatized from the whole nightmare, rendering him catatonic.
- Bait-and-Switch: Many of the dreams end up like this, much to Sniffles' dismay.
- Bittersweet Ending: At the hospital, it is shown that Sniffles has gone catatonic and that he has gotten PTSD after the dream machine overheats. Despite that though, Sniffles actually survived!
- Book Ends: The episode both begins and ends with the shot of the island inside the TV.
- The Cameo: Truffles can be seen behind a tree when Sniffles starts swinging on a jungle vine.
- Double-Meaning Title: "Dream Job" is a common expression; doing what you absolutely love to do that supports the lifestyle you choose to have while it also refers to the fact this episode has to do with dreams.
- Dream Episode: Most of the episode is Sniffles' dreams... his painful, painful dreams.
- Dream Weaver: Unintentionally done with Lumpy.
- Everybody Lives: No one dies in the episode, as all of Sniffles' deaths were in his dreams.
- The Executioner: Dream Fliqpy's job in one of Sniffles' dreams.
- Freeze-Frame Bonus: When Sniffles accidentally detonates a bomb, you can see a sausage in the explosion for just a split-second.
- Funny Background Event: In the dream where Sniffles' head gets guillotined, you can see Fliqpy wearing a mask while pulling the switch and Disco Bear dressed up as a king.
- Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress: When Lumpy changes channels for the first time Dream!Sniffles finds himself in midair, and the moment he realises this, he plummets.
- Heroic BSoD: Sniffles becomes catatonic from all the dreams he suffered through.
- Idiot Houdini: Lumpy gets away scot-free after accidentally torturing Sniffles for the entirety of the episode in his dream.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: One of Sniffles' deaths has him getting impaled through the torso by a tree branch.
- Literally Shattered Lives: Much like one of Cuddles' deaths in "Blast from the Past", one of Sniffles' dreams has him being sent to space, where he's instantly frozen and shattered by a fast-moving rock.
- New Job as the Plot Demands
- In the real world, Lumpy is a janitor and Petunia is a nurse.
- In Sniffles' dreams, Fliqpy is an executioner, Disco Bear is a king, and Giggles is a masseuse this episode.
- Noodle Incident: One of the dreams immediately cuts to Sniffles being cooked.
- Off with His Head!: One of Sniffles' many deaths feature him in a guillotine.
- Shout-Out: The game show Sniffles was on had a giant vertical wheel similar to The Price Is Right.
- They Killed Kenny Again: Subverted. One of the few episodes where no one technically died, although Sniffles dies seven times throughout his dream.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: Lumpy, Petunia and Sniffles survive this episode.
- Trauma Button Ending: In the final scene, Sniffles starts worrying when the TV in the hospital shows the island from the beginning of last night's program, implying that he may have developed PTSD from his own dreams.
- Trauma Conga Line: Sniffles suffers through seven dream deaths in a short time. He is also rendered catatonic.
