Giggles drew the short straw for this episode.
"Be positive!"

Airdate: October 19, 2012

After realizing that Giggles' blood won't satisfy his hunger, Count Lumpy looks for new victims to feast on.

"All in Vein" contain examples of:

  • Balloon Belly: Lumpy gets one after drinking all the blood pouches in the ambulance.
  • Brick Joke: When Toothy witnesses the now fattened up Lumpy, he runs in shock. The final shot of this episode shows Toothy still running away only to be impaled by Lumpy's fangs.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • This the second time that Giggles' face can be seen on a milk carton. The first being in "Junk in the Trunk".
    • This is also the third time in the series where Lumpy is portrayed as something supernatural. The other two being: "Dunce Upon a Time" and "As You Wish".
  • Credits Gag: Before the credits play, there are a couple of parodies of real life products. The first one was for Lumpy Luncheon Meat, which is a parody of Spam, and the other one shows Petunia on a container of salt called "Happy Tree Friends Salt", which is a parody of Morton Salt. On the container of salt, the text "When in pain, it's sore!" can be seen. This is a reference to Morton Salt's slogan "When it rains, it pours".
  • Cruel and Unusual Death:
    • Count Lumpy explodes due to being exposed to sunlight.
    • Giggles, Truffles, and Lammy get their blood sucked out by Lumpy, then he crushes their bodies like soda cans. (Only Giggles' death is seen.)
  • "Everybody Dies" Ending: Nobody survives in this episode.
  • Face on a Milk Carton: Giggles is on one once again in Lumpy's fridge... with Giggles herself nearby.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: If the episode is paused at just the right moment when the hypnotizing swirl engulfs the screen, the text "You love Happy Tree Friends" can be seen. But you have to be quick, as the text flashes for only a split second.
  • Halloween Episode: Season 3's fifth Halloween episode, released on October 2012.
  • Irony: Despite being a character that often dies, this is the first Halloween Episode where Lumpy actually dies in.
  • Made of Iron: Lumpy survives being run over by a train and suffers no actual injuries from it.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: Toothy is an ambulance driver and The Mole is a pizza delivery guy.
  • Off with His Head!: The Mole's death.
  • Pun-Based Title: To the saying: "All in vain".
  • Shout-Out: The Credits Gag has parodies of actual food items.
  • Stealth Pun:
    • Giggles' blood is shown to have solidified due to being in the fridge for an unprecedented amount of time, similarly to milk. In other words, her blood curdled.
    • The moral of this story is reference to a blood type.
  • They Killed Kenny Again: Lammy, Mr. Pickels, Truffles, Giggles, The Mole, Lumpy and Toothy die in this episode.
  • Villain Protagonist: Lumpy, being a vampire and whatnot.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To the Dracula movies.
