Captain Renard vows to kill Nick following the massacre in Nick's loft.
This episode provides examples of:
- An Arm and a Leg: When a recently-healed Eve tries to move a dead Black Claw member, he (despite being, y'know, dead) suddenly grips her wrist and can't be pried off. Eve sees herself being dragged into a vortex of darkness by the man, who now has symbols printed on his face. Rosalee identifies what's happening as a Death Grip, where a dying person can bargain for an escape from Hell if they drag a pure soul down with them. The solution? Break the dead guy's grip by cutting his arm off.
- Big Damn Kiss: With Renard out hunting him and Bonaparte dead, Nick visits Adalind at the mansion and she greets him with a kiss before taking him to see Kelly.
- Call-Back: Rachel's body is found by the authorities and Hank and Wu catch the case. Renard references Diana's murder of Rachel when he tells Adalind how Bonaparte ended up dead.Adalind: You're gonna blame Diana for this too?
Renard: Well, somebody made me kill Bonaparte, just like somebody killed Rachel. Who else has that kind of power? - Cliffhanger: The gang are trapped in Bud's shop, surrounded by SWAT teams about to burst in.Renard: Take them down.
- Fugitive Arc: Hence the title. After the massacre at the loft, Renard issues warrants and APBs on Nick, with a "shoot to kill" order.
- He Went That Way: Nick's plan to escape Bud's shop when it's surrounded; he tells Bud to back his truck into the loading bay, where Monroe will load on a fridge that Nick could conceivably be hiding in. Bud then drives away, hopefully with the SWAT team following him so the gang can escape. Unfortunately the SWAT team are too far along for the plan to work.
- Invisible to Normals: Eve sees strange symbols on the cloth the stick was wrapped in that aren't visible to anyone else. They're the same symbols she saw on the Black Claw member who grabbed her.
- Oh, Crap!: Hank and Wu, when they realise Bud's shop is about to be searched... where Nick is hiding.
- The Reveal: Black Claw has a Wesen judge, who issues various warrants against Nick.
- Sanity Slippage: Renard is having delusions around his murder of Meisner.
- Swat Team: Renard issues search warrants for Nick. Monroe and Rosalee are held at gunpoint while their house is searched, and the Spice Shop's door is broken as a team searches there too.
- Tunnel Network: The gang search the tunnels for a way out, which Monroe eventually finds. He and Rosalee go back to find the others, who have resolved to go back to Nick with whatever help they can still give him, but they encounter him coming to find them after killing the Black Claw army.
- What You Are in the Dark: Officer Franco, despite having been told not to talk to Hank and Wu, still tips them off that Bud's shop is about to be searched by pointedly not answering, because he's uncomfortable going after Nick. Also a case of Plausible Deniability as he can honestly say he told them nothing.
