A beauty regimen proves deadly for a young woman, who seems to have aged 70 years when Nick and Hank find her lifeless body. As they search for proof of Wesen involvement, they are led to a local doctor, and end up enlisting Rosalee's help in their investigation.
Meanwhile, Eve takes a bold step to learn more about Capt. Renard's nefarious dealings.
This episode provides examples of:
- Body Horror: Eve's transformation into Renard is much more painful than Adalind's into Juliette or vice versa, because instead of one slightly-built woman turning into another it's a slightly-built woman turning into a strapping, muscular man.
- Call-Back: Eve turns into Renard using the hat ritual first used by Adalind in "The Inheritance".
- Facial Horror: Dr Forbes, after abusing the Yanbue. The skin on his face becomes tight and distorted to a grotesque degree, looking more horrifying than any woge. And, as the Yanbue has also made him crazy, he thinks he looks young and gorgeous, insisting he's "not a day under sixty-nine!"
- Fantastic Drug: The Yanbue is highly addictive with repeated use, and also results in Sanity Slippage.
- Life Drinker: The Musasat Alsh-Shabab drains a life-force substance called Yanbue from his victims, making them suddenly age from their early twenties into old age. Unlike most examples, he's taking the substance to sell rather than for his own use.
- Model Scam: How Malcolm the Musasat Alsh-Shabab gets his victims; he approaches young and attractive people in malls and invites them along for a photoshoot. While they're there, he gives them drugged water and drains their life-force.
