Platinum Sky II
After years since the beginning of Nimmus Island's lockdown, research in the ruins have concluded and its racing course reopens to the public. The course is noted to be one of the most grueling ones in existence due to the shifting conditions of the racetrack.
As the race's grand reopening comes to a close, connections between the course's rough weather and the long hiatus in the ruins eventually shows up.
Tropes
- Conveniently Timed Distraction: As Maddie and Nicholas duke out against each other, Catherine takes advantage of the fracas by slipping out of the race for her intended purpose, to retrieve Ishkur from the ruins.
- Gone Horribly Wrong: While finding a way to control Nimmus Island's weather, the archaeologist discovers that Ishkur is the key component to it. Despite knowing that it's heavily battered all this time, he decides to activate it out of curiosity. This leads to the terrible weather everyone is facing.
- Hostile Weather: While the weather played a role regarding to the difficulty of the track, it becomes more hostile after it due to Ishkur going haywire.
- It Was with You All Along: At one point, Ishkur activates its shield, preventing the archaeologist from getting close to it. After some discussion with the crew, he notices that the Nightcypher's acceleration device uses similar technology and suggests using it to break the shield down.
- Let's Split Up, Gang!: After assessing the situation behind the excavation group, Maddie suggests splitting themselves up to three groups: he and Nicolas are to find the remaining excavation group members, the Captain, Meteon, and Fehr handle Ishkur in the ruins, and the remainder of the crew to protect everyone else at the port.
- Tempting Fate: After Sierokarte and her fellow commentator points out that the race's weather conditions was the roughest it's ever been, tornadoes shows up preventing anyone from leaving the island.
