• Irony: It doesn't fly over Rex's head how ironic it is that, as he puts it, a human and an EVO (Kenwyn and Rex) worked together to stop a human and EVO (Mouse and AMP), the latter of which were working together to prove humans and EVOs can't work together.
• Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: If the antagonists hadn't messed with Squid's powers and AMPed it up, he wouldn't have been strong enough to foil their plans.
• When She Smiles: Skwyd isn't exactly the cheeriest of Rex's friends, but during the rave between humans and EVOs, Rex can't help but facetiously joke Skwyd's having so much fun that this is the first time he's ever seen him smile.
