Leela starts a new kids' book series called Rumbledy Hump, which soon gets picked up as a TV show. However, the fame starts going to her head, and soon Bender finds out where Leela gets her "inspiration" and blackmails her.

- Acquired Situational Narcissism: Leela. After her show wins at the Young People's Choice Awards, she becomes an egomaniac and starts to look down on her coworkers.
- Actor Allusion: At one point, Abner says that Leela's show is a hit and is gonna be bigger than SpongeBot SquareBolts, an expy of SpongeBob SquarePants. Tom Kenny, Abner's voice actor, voiced the titular character in that show.
- Biting-the-Hand Humor: Leela makes a comment that "we all know any TV show that's even slightly good gets cancelled, sometimes two or three times." Guess how many times Futurama was cancelled.
- Bizarre Alien Biology: One of Leela’s stories about the Humplings has them meeting a space gorilla who breathes chlorine.
- Call-Back: The Couch Gag, "Penetrates even the thickest foil hat" is likely a reference to the events of "Into the Wild Green Yonder".
- Karma Houdini: Played with when Leela believes that she deserves comeuppance for ruining innocent lives when she unintentionally made things better for the Humplings, who will get paid for their work, the orphans, who despite being employed as a TV crew, have a paradise planet to play on and food to eat, and countless other children who will be inspired by Rumbledy-Hump. Leela is very upset that she didn't get to learn her lesson and begs for punishment as the credits roll.
- Lovable Coward: Feffernoose. As Leela says, he's "scared of everyones".
- The Main Characters Do Everything: For no apparent reason, Rumbledy Hump is filmed at Planet Express, with Leela and her coworkers serving as the actors.
- Noodle Incident: Bender once caught an Evangelist preacher sneaking out of a whorehouse on Christmas (which, for some reason, he actually pronounces as "Christmas" instead of "Xmas").
- Plagiarism in Fiction: It is revealed that there is an unknown planet inhabited by the Rumbledy-Hump characters—"the Humplings"—who are real. Leela's scripts are revealed to be word-for-word documentations of the Humplings' daily activities, which she is exploiting for profit and fame.
- Shout-Out: The episode title and the designs of the Humplings are references to Yo Gabba Gabba!. Humorously, the episode drops another in the form of "Yo Gimmie Gimmie."
- Take That!: Tickelodeon and its programming (such as Popular Slut Club, Extreme Toddler Wrestling, SpongeBot SquareBolts, The Adventures of Pitbull and Scaredy Squirrel, Yo Gimmie Gimmie, and Rumbledy Hump) is an obvious pot-shot to Nickelodeon and its programming.
- The Unintelligible: Garbly. Everyone loves him 'cause they can't understand him. But at the end he can finally afford speech therapy.
