• Accidental Pervert: Ed nearly sees Winry naked after the latter enters her bedroom and begins changing, not realising that Ed is in the room with her.
• Didn't See That Coming: It's safe to say that neither Ed nor Winry expected to reunite the way they did (see Accidental Pervert above).
• Didn't Think This Through: Ed decides that Winry's bedroom will be a good place to eat his sandwich, without considering the possibility that Winry might come in and change her clothes.
• Downer Ending: Al is lured into a trap by Gluttony and Pride, and the latter uses his Living Shadows to possess Al's armor body.
• Humans Are Morons: Lampshaded by Greed, who mocks humanity's tendency to believe that greed is only about money and power.
  Greed: (To Ed) You humans think greed's just about money and power, but everyone wants something they don't have.
• I Choose to Stay: A variation — Winry angrily shuts down Ed's request for her, Pinako and Den to flee Amestris until the Promised Day is over, pointing out that the entire country is in danger, not just them.
