On Valentine's Day, Jessica and Louis compete to give Evan the best advice on how to celebrate with his new girlfriend. Eddie finds a love note in his delivery orders and asks Honey for help finding out who his secret admirer is.

  • All Part of the Show: Jessica is so insistent on the power of adrenaline and other chemical responses in relation to romances that she attempts to rob Cattleman's during Evan and his girlfriend's date there; one of the customers thinks it's dinner and a show, and Louis plays it off as "Cattleman's Theater" so nobody calls the police.
  • Angry Guard Dog: The first delivery stop that Eddie and Honey visit while investigating the love note's sender is owned by a man that sics one of these on them for asking if he had any teenagers.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: After learning that Evan and his girlfriend had a good night despite her interference, Jessica states that she still wants to know and talk about his romantic issues even if she's not as good at it as Louis. Evan then asks about a feeling he gets when he hugs his girlfriend, and she immediately yells for Louis to come talk to his son.
  • Brick Joke: At the start of the episode, Trent reassures Eddie that it's alright to spend Valentine's Day alone, as he has sisters named Trish, Tina, and Trudy that all don't have dates. In The Tag, it turns out Tina slipped the love note into Eddie's delivery orders.
  • Call-Back: In addition to the reappearance of Evan's girlfriend, Louis makes reference to Evan favoring Mommy while still suggesting that there are matters better handled by other people, and is eager to help when Evan admits that Jessica isn't the best on handling romantic matters.
  • Cupid's Arrow: The episode's Title Drop comes from Trent dressing the bear in Cattleman's Ranch like Cupid for the holiday, but found it easier to give it a crossbow instead of a bow & arrow. It becomes a Chekhov's Gun when Jessica steals the crossbow to commit her fake robbery.
  • Elopement: It turns out that two of Louis' notable but now-absent employees, Mitch and Nancy, decided to elope, cleaning out the cash register before running off and never returning.
  • The Ending Changes Everything: After Eddie spends the entire episode wondering who wrote him a love note, dismissing his last delivery destination because it's Trent's house and even accusing Honey of trying to lift his spirits with false hope before accepting that he'll never know, The Tag reveals that Trent has a sister who has a massive crush on Eddie (which Eddie finds out about later and leads to a reoccurring subplot).
  • Goofy Suit: Louis decides to help Evan ask out his date for Valentine's Day by dressing up in a frog outfit and visiting their school, since Evan and his girlfriend first met while dissecting one in science class.
  • Grand Romantic Gesture: Evan starts to question how romantic he should be with his girlfriend after another student in his and Emery's school drops in from the ceiling in a Spider-Man suit to ask someone on a date.
  • Greed: One of the houses that Eddie and Honey investigate turns out to have accidentally overtipped Eddie on his last delivery, and demands that they give her back the extra $15 before they leave.
  • Noodle Incident: When Louis tells Jessica she might be better off handling one of Grandma's problems today instead of Evan's, it cuts to Grandma in her wheelchair half-stuck in a sleeping bag, stating that it's acting up again. This is Grandma's only appearance in the episode, too.
  • Operation: Jealousy: In order to prove that she's better with romance issues than Louis and Evan were giving her credit for, she manages to pick up a random bicyclist right after an adrenaline-raising crash, but it backfires because he ends up being a nuisance and repeatedly calling Cattleman's asking about her.
  • Ordered Apology: After ruining Evan's date with his girlfriend, the next morning, Jessica asks if he'll accept her apology. Evan points out that she hasn't actually given her apology yet, and makes her do so, before admitting that he managed to make peace with his girlfriend after Jessica scared her away.
  • The Talk: While trying to convince Jessica how better-suited he is for dealing with their sons' relationship problems, Louis mentions having talked with Eddie over how much time he spends in the shower, though Jessica assumes it was just about the water bill. And at the end of the episode, Evan wants to talk about how he feels when he hugs his girlfriend, causing Jessica to yell for Louis.
  • Valentine's Day Episode: In which Evan takes his girlfriend on a date, and Eddie tries tracking down his secret admirer.
