Gutierrez returns (though now with cybernetic implants on the left side of his head due to their previous encounter). After many comical misunderstandings on what Freakazoid's weakness is, Gutierrez tricks him into imprisoning himself in a cage and sends a "Freaka-Clone" out in his place to ruin his reputation.

Tropes in this episode:

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: A newscaster reports the Freaka-Clone's latest activities: tax evasion, mail fraud, and impersonating a Shriner.
  • Aside Glance: Freakazoid's response to Guitierrez attempting to use kryptonite on him.
  • Big "NO!": Guitierrez after Freakazoid's happy thoughts create clones of Hero Boy.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": Guitierrez in response to having to listen to the Gas & Go crew's never-ending song.
  • Big "YES!": Freakazoid when Cosgrove announces that the police believe a clone is impersonating him.
  • The Cameo: Fatman appears reading to children about the Freaka-Clone's deeds.
  • Captain Ersatz: Hero Boy is an obvious parody of Astro Boy.
  • Character Catchphrase: Hero Boy is constantly shouting, "I must succeed!"
  • Comically Missing the Point: After the commercial break, Guitierrez is showing off the Freaka-Clone, while Freakazoid is eating a sandwich made by Jocko.
    Guitierrez: Magnificent, is it not?
    Freakazoid: It's delicious.
    Guitierrez: Not the sandwich!
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Freakazoid boasting that the Freaka-Clone failed because it lacked his unique personality is what gives Guitierrez the idea to create a new clone by using his brain.
  • Evil Twin: Guitierrez’s Freaka-Clone.
  • Exact Words: When Guitierrez is trying to scan Freakazoid’s brain to make a perfect clone of him, he tells Freakazoid to “think happy thoughts”. Freakazoid, determined to not let Guitierrez win, repeatedly chants Hero Boy’s Catchphrase, “I must succeed!” This results in making multiple Hero Boy clones instead, which overloads and destroys the cloning machine.
    Guitierrez: YOU! You did this!
Freakazoid: You told me to “think happy thoughts”, so I thought about my favorite TV show.
  • Failure Hero: Hero Boy consistently fails to save the day, with the episode Freakazoid is watching showing a rampaging monster effortlessly knocking him away. The only thing he manages to do is make observers laugh at him for his failures.
  • Flashback: When talking about getting revenge against Freakazoid, Guitierrez shows a clip of their last encounter.
  • The Gadfly: Guitierrez notes that Freakazoid has a knack for driving him crazy.
  • In the Hood: Guitierrez is this for much of the episode, and it completely blacks out half of his face. Before the brain transfer, he takes it off to reveal that half of his face now looks like a computer motherboard. He says this was the result of his last encounter with Freakazoid.
  • Ironic Echo: After all the times Guitierrez laughed in this episode, Freakazoid openly laughs at him when the the Freaka-Clone's nature is revealed to the public.
  • Karma Houdini: Subverted. Guitierrez escapes by stealing the Freakmobile, but Freakazoid tells Cosgrove that he's still going to get what he deserves. We then see Guitierrez being infuriated by the Gas & Go crew's song.
  • Laugh with Me!: The Trope Namer is at it again, and this time he has accompaniment.
Guitierrez: Laugh with me, Jocko! Laugh with me!
    Jocko: EEEEEEEEEE! EEEEEEEEEEEE!
  • Not So Above It All: Guitierrez when showing Freakazoid a montage of bloopers. When Freakazoid says they have to get back to the story, Guitierrez pleads for just one more clip.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: How Cosgrove figures out and convinces everyone else that the Freaka-Clone isn’t the real deal.
Cosgrove: I'm Sgt. Mike Cosgrove. How y'all doing? We now have reason to believe that the Freakazoid loose in the city is a clone.
    Freakazoid: Yes!
    Guitierrez: No!
Reporter: What makes you think he's a clone?
Cosgrove: Because I invited him to the Yakov Smirnoff film festival, and he said, "No".
    Everyone: CLONE!
  • Skewed Priorities \ The Snack Is More Interesting: Freakazoid is more interested in the delicious sandwich that Jocko made him than the Freaka-Clone that Guitierrez is trying to show off. How much of this is a genuine example or Freakazoid messing with Guitierrez is unclear, but Guitierrez is nonetheless frustrated.
  • The Stinger: Jean MacCurdy and Warner Bros. CEOs Bob Daly and Terry Semel (seen in Terry Gilliam-esque cut-out animation) thank the viewers for watching while dancing in front of a 19th-century sweatshop.
  • Take That!: According to Guitierrez, Jocko behaves so weirdly because he used to work for Bobby Knight.
  • Too Dumb to Live: How Freakazoid becomes trapped in a cage.
Freakazoid: Dumb, dumb, dumb! Never tell the villain how to trap you in a cage!
Guitierrez: You probably shouldn't have helped us build it, either.
    Freakazoid: I know! Dumb!
  • Weaksauce Weakness: This episode reveals Freakazoid's metaphorical kryptonite is graphite bars charged with negative ions. Or poo gas, but nobody likes poo gas.
  • Wham Shot: Guitierrez introducing Freakazoid to the Freaka-Clone.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Guitierrez tries a couple known weaknesses of popular characters to kill Freakazoid, such as kryptonite ("That's Superman's weakness, not mine."), the color yellow ("That's the Green Lantern."), and splashing water in Freakazoid's face ("That's the Wicked Witch.").
Guitierrez: "Oh, that stupid man at the store!"
  • "You!" Exclamation: Guitierrez when yelling at Freakazoid for creating clones of Hero Boy.

Jean MacCurdy: On behalf of Warner Animation, I wanna thank you all for enjoying our fine programming, ah!
Bob Daly and Terry Semel: Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
