With only 30 minutes left, Soma has to find a way to bounce back from his bad dish choice. Meanwhile, a new talented rival appears, Alice Nakiri, Erina's cousin.
This episode provides examples of:
- The Ace: The only students who surpassed the 300's servings mark were the Nakiri cousins, with Erina topping the list with more than 400 servings and counting and Alice reaching the 380 mark (and she could have reached the 400's if not because she ran out of ingredients).
- Adaptation Expansion:
- All the other characters are shown reaching their 200 plates mark: Ryoko, Yuuki, Shun, Marui, Daigo, Shoji, Isami, Ryou and Akira (as The Cameo).
- An extra scene in The Stinger has Doujima and Sena mentioning the upcoming Fall Classic.
- Evolving Credits: The rotating dish in the opening changed. For the ending "Spice", the foodgasm reaction is from Alice and Ryou.
- Friend to All Children: Soma managed to get as his first client a shy little girl who couldn't reach the dishes in Erina's counter, by showcasing his omelette as a "Magic trick", with egg bubbles that disappeared in the mouth.
- Get A Hold Of Yourself Man: In Soma's flashback it's revealed that the trick Soma did on Megumi to calm her in "The Magician from the East" was taught by his dad.
- The Glorious War of Sisterly Rivalry: Even though they are cousins, Alice and Erina have this dynamic. Erina is the Academic Alpha Bitch at school and dismisses Alice because she herself is more talented, while Alice brings up all the times Erina was mean to her when they were children (like criticizing the cake Alice did at age 5, or Erina taking away her plushies), to Erina's embarrassment.
- Impossibly Delicious Food:
- Continuing from last episode, it's revealed that Alice's dishes are more than they meet the eye - What seemed to be raw eggs were really Diluted seawater jelly as the whites and Salmon Roe held together with gelatin as the yolk. Then what looked like boiled eggs were actually White Asparagus Mousse with Hollandaise sauce as the yolk. And the egg shell was actually filled with Caramel milkshake. The combination was so sublime that people felt they were embracing all the life forms of the Earth (ocean, land and forest).
- Soma's omelette wasn't an ordinary one, as it had a bouncy texture of a soufflé that vanished in the mouth. Once people discovered it, they started to line up to not only taste it, but also watch him cook it in a very fast pacing.
- Overshadowed by Awesome: Happens three times:
- Erina, being in the booth next to Soma, grabbed so many customers that she practically monopolized the clients away from the other students. Subsequently, many of them ignored Soma's souffle before it started to flop.
- Ikumi got stuck in 150 servings because Alice's Three Forms of Egg Dish grabbed the interest of all the nearby customers. She only managed to recover her clients because Alice ran out of ingredients.
- When Soma started to perform Live-Cooking, the people were so amazed that they started to leave the rows for Erina's booth.
- Shout-Out: Both Eyecatch cards have the characters cosplaying as Street Fighter characters.
- Throw the Dog a Bone: After suffering for five straight days, the students get a full-course banquet prepared by the Legendary Alumni themselves. Soma finally accepts that enrolling in Tootsuki was the best decision he ever made.
- Unsportsmanlike Gloating: With 30 minutes left, Erina took a time to taunt Soma. Too bad Soma was ignoring her to concentrate on his comeback.
