Peter gets amnesia after getting punched in the face by Richard Dawson while on an episode of Family Feud.

- Ass Shove: An amnesiac Peter's attempt to change Stewie's diaper has him shove it up inside him, traumatizing the poor baby.
- Bait-and-Switch: Peter's friends mess with him in his amnesiac state by telling him to take off a women's clothes in the bar. A scream is heard and then a slap, but when Peter comes back he says he slapped her because she screamed.
- The Cloudcuckoolander Was Right: Peter answers a question on Family Feud as a flute played by Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek: The Next Generation. While this may seem like a silly answer, it turns out to be correct. When Lois questions Peter how he knew, he says that he was in the survey.
- Dude, Not Funny!: The family has this reaction when Meg makes an incest joke at Peter's expense.
- Epic Fail: Peter loses the final round of Family Feud because he keeps on saying "chair".
- Funny Background Event: While Peter and Lois reconcile at the end, Quagmire is seen trying desperately to get an erection, apparently not noticing Peter’s presence.
- Hypocrite: Quagmire, oh so much.
- A few episodes ago, he calls out Brian for hitting on Lois, yet here he takes an opportunity to take Lois from Peter when he has amnesia and takes a break from his marriage.
- He also calls Brian out for being pretentious just so he can date women and alter sleep with them, yet here he pretends to be supportive of Lois since her split from Peter when all he really wants is to take her from him. The biggest irony of all is that Brian is the one who foils his plans by informing Peter of Quagmire's intentions.
- Identity Amnesia: Taken to extremes. Peter not only forgets who he, his family, his friends or Ernie are, but also things like silverware and Pretty Woman.(after Peter gets knocked out by Richard Dawson)
Lois: Peter! Oh, my God, are you alright?
Peter: What happened? Where am I? Who are you?
Lois: I'm Lois.
Peter: Lois who? Who the hell am I?
Brian: Uh-oh.
[adult swim] bump: Yes, they're actually doing an amnesia story. - Karma Houdini: Richard Dawson is not held accountable by the Griffins for being responsible for Peter's first bout of amnesia.
- Money Dumb: Peter wants to earn $5,000 from Family Feud... so he can buy a cave in the yard just for the fun of telling people not to go in.
- Never My Fault: Peter is angry at Richard Dawson when he loses due to his own stupidity.Peter: You son of a bitch. What about my cave in the yard? What about my cave in the yard?!
- Overly Long Gag: Peter is repeatedly hit by blunt objects by Ernie the Giant Chicken which cause him to lose his memory and regain it several times.Peter: I was just lucky he had an odd number of objects.
- Pre-Asskicking One-Liner: Richard Dawson right before he shoves Peter into the podium.Richard Dawson: Get your hands off me. I served in the fictitious military!
- Reality-Breaking Paradox: Something Stewie is worried about after being traumatized by Peter shoving a diaper inside him, thinking that to get it out he'll have to poop a diaper into a diaper.
- Running Gag: An amnesiac Peter once again dances to "Surfin' Bird", thinking it's a new song.
- Shout-Out: When Quagmire stalks Lois at the grocery store, he says his trademark 'Giggity' in the tune of the Jaws theme.
- Spanner in the Works: Brian manages to inform Peter just in time for him to stop Quagmire from having sex with Lois.
- Two Decades Behind: Richard Dawson had stepped down as Family Feud host—except
for a brief comeback in 1994—quite literally two decades before this episode hit airwaves, and the show itself had seen two revivals/revamps and four hosts since his day.
