As he takes a stroll around town, Dante notices the members of Fairy Tail leaving a train, with Natsu, of course, suffering from motion sickness. Noticing their guild marks, Dante reduces that they are here for the demon invasion and continues his stroll, happy at the idea that things may get interesting. As the Fairy Tail members wait to meet their client at a park, Wendy wanders off and finds a statue dedicated to the Dark Knight Sparda. When the other Fairy Tail members find her, they wonder who or what exactly Sparda is. Carla reveals that Sparda is a demon who protected human kind from the forces of the Underworld, which she learned from an old scroll she had found during her time in Cait Shelter.
- Dark Is Not Evil: Even before before knowing the full story behind Sparda, Fairy Tail could easily feel some relief and security despite the intimidating appearance of his statue.
- Dumbass Hasa Point: When the others express shock at Sparda being a demon, Natsu says even he could easily tell that the Sparda statue isn't human.
- Mr. Exposition: Morrison is the one who told Fairy Tail about the Legend of Sparda.
- Mythology Gag: The statue of Sparda Fairy Tail see is based off of Devil May Cry The Animated Series episode The Last Promise.
- Unusually Uninteresting Sight: Dante was quite suprise to see flying talking cats (Happy and Carla) but quickly dismisses it after determining the two aren't demons.
