- Smokey's habit of making holes in condoms is shown onscreen and referenced when Vic says a lot of young couples had babies at around the same time.
- Skee-Ball appears as the head elf at the mall, which was mentioned by Vic as being his job in the first season.
- Dig Your Own Grave: What Bob is forced to do by Gagliardi and his men at the graveyard when he is caught at the bus station trying to skip out on his debt. Luckily for Bob, Gagliardi is distracted by the noises from Maureen and Bridget attempting to perform an occult ritual to contact Big Bill's ghost, giving Bob the chance to temporarily disable his captors and get away.
- Dirty Cop: The two cops that Bill, Phillip, and Jimmy shadow get bribes from the mall store owners to protect their stores from the rioting shoppers.
- Knee-capping: Bob Pogo is able to get away from the mafia before they can kill him in an empty grave by hitting them in the knees with a shovel after the mafia members are distracted by Bridgette and Maureen running away while covered in dirt, thinking they were the ghosts of the circus midgets they killed.
