Vampiric clowns run amok in the city, devouring anyone who laughs — and Eduardo gets bitten by one after finding a jack-in-the-box outside his apartment.

This episode contains the following tropes:
- Big Damn Heroes: Just as Kylie and Garrett are done for, Egon and Slimer step in to save them.
- Clownification: Slowly happens to Eduardo after getting bitten.
- Face–Monster Turn: Eduardo turns on his friends after he fully transforms into a Laughter Vampire.
- Irony: Garrett accuses Edwardo of being The Load to the point that the latter pushes the former out of the way to trap the first clown. Garrett is indirectly responsible of Edwardo’s Clownification while Edwardo himself unknowingly saved Garrett from being turned into a clown.
- The Load: Garrett accuses Eduardo of being this, jumpstarting the latter's drive to prove him wrong.
- Mercy Kill: To be exact, Mercy Trap. Seeing that Eduardo hasn't reverted back to normal, Kylie and Garrett think that either there are more vampires out there or the process is irreversible. Left with no choice, the two tearfully prepare to trap their friend.
- Monster Clown: The Laughter Vampires.
- Naked People Are Funny: The victims' fates after being freed from the Laughter Vampires. Roland expresses his dislike about this.
- Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Eduardo uses Slimer's gullibility to free him. Thankfully, he and Egon are spared thanks to Egon's inability to laugh.
- Oh, Crap!: Roland swore from now on that he'll never laugh again until Garrett brings up that bathtub joke causing him to laugh a bit. He has seconds to realize his mistake before being eaten by the now-Clownized Eduardo.
- Orphaned Punchline: The first scene after the title sequence has Roland telling the rest of the team a joke that ends, "Dwain the bathtub, I'm dwowning." He's the only one who laughs.
- Our Vampires Are Different: Kylie calls them the Monster Clown-esqe vampires, that hunt laughter instead of blood.
- Scream Discretion Shot: One scene takes place outside the comedy club before the Laughter Vampires devour everyone inside. There are horrific screams before unnatural laughter.
- Shout-Out: The Laughter Vampires seems to be a combination of the titular clowns from Killer Klowns from Outer Space and Alien with their tongue-like worm creatures.
- Eduardo calls one of the vampire clowns Krusty.
- Unsportsmanlike Gloating: Eduardo dances around and taunts the defeated clown ghost and Garrett about his victory. Unfortunately, this leads the other Laughter Vampires to turn him into one of them.
