Citizens of Eureka, never fear! Captain Eureka is here!

Lexi: Just because he wears a mask and a cape doesn't make him dangerously insane!
Jack: Kinda does, yeah.

While Jack keeps having to rescue Lexi from a bumbling superhero, Zoe gets trapped while exploring an abandoned facility under the high school with her friends.

Tropes

  • Blunt "No": Eva Throne flat-out refuses to tell Jack what she's doing with the bunker. He tells her he's not going to drop it.
  • Chekhov's Gun: The prototype phone Fargo gives to Carter. It's still pretty buggy, among other things giving him a painful shock when he tries to call Zoe. Later, when he uses the quantum phaser to reach the control to phase Zoe but is too intangible to press the button, he puts his fingers into the button and calls Zoe, sending the current through the circuit.
  • Cool Aunt: Lexi is this to Zoe, helping her sign up for a yoga retreat she'd have to skip three days of school for and being happy for her when she seems to have gone against Jack's wishes.
  • Engineered Heroics: Both times Eureka Man saves Lexi, it's from a danger he created; he took away the signs warning of a forcefield that crushes her car and causes a rocket fuel line to blow.
  • Handwave: How did Allison and Henry solve the phasing problem to save Jack? Well, they were motivated. Because the people on the original project weren't just as desperate to save their friends.
  • The Hero: Jack, per usual, ends up saving Zoe & Co.
  • Intangibility: One of the powers Chuck the recycling guy uses to pose as a superhero. It doesn't work well, leaving Chuck's finger behind when he goes through a wall. Later, Jack uses it to save a trapped Zoe.
  • Power at a Price: Phasing technology is pretty cool...until you don't stop phasing without the tech.
  • Running Gag: Carter's Jeep has its engine block shot through by a GD laser turret and is later set on fire by Mr Eureka's rocket boots.
  • Shout-Out:
    • To The Lone Ranger, when Lexi asks, "who was that masked man?"
    • Superman is referenced when Dr. Gaz says, "Up, up and away!" and Carter says, "A bird, a plane...Superman"
    • Pilar calls Lucas Mr Wizard.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang: Jack and Lexi are very different. Jack is a strait-laced lawman while Lexi is a free-spirited Granola Girl.
  • Superhero: Eureka has one, but he's not that good, and just wants to impress Lexi.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Zoe goes into a mysterious underground corridor opening up at her school, ignoring the warnings of her friends. Then Pilar freaks out because of rats and begins to run blindly away so that they get lost.
