One Man's Trash Is Another's Treasure: Scallywag's treasure chest is full of nothing but old toys. But for being an old not-pirate, it turns out Scallywag wanted this 'treasure' because they were his childhood toys.
"Where? Where?": When everybody first met Captain Scallywag, their first impression was to shout "A PIRATE!" Comically, Scallywag didn't know they were talking about him, due in part to his spider tattoo (really a spider) and his peg leg (his misplaced telescope).
Four Little Pigs:
Literal-Minded: Max changes his pig's line to "Not by the hair on my heady-head-head" instead of "chinny-chin-chin" because of the simple fact that he himself doesn't have hair on his chin.
Not His Sled: Part of Emmy's character arc in the episode is accepting Zak And Wheezie's approach at giving the puppet show two big bad wolves, even though "The Three Little Pigs" doesn't normally call for it. Towards the end, Emmy also compromises by giving the story a fourth pig who blows the two big bad wolves away.
Take a Third Option: Usually Zak and Weezie play the music; but they both want to be the wolf for a change but no one knows who will play the music. To fix this issue and have everyone participate, the Do-Re-Mi birds play the music, Zak and Weezie play the wolf, and Emmy adds a fourth pig.
They Changed It, Now It Sucks!: In-Universe. The audience at the puppet show momentarily have this attitude when they see that contrary to the usual telling of "The Three Little Pigs", the Big Bad Wolf archetype has successfully blown down the third pig's house, clearly displeased by the change.
