Tropes

  • Batman Gambit: Genius!Krusha planned for Diddy and Dixie to be on a mine cart with no breaks and a bomb ready to go off if they try to stop it. He knows full well that DK will leave Cranky's hut to go save the kids rather than defend the Crystal Coconut. Of course, he failed to consider that DK would take the real prize with him.
  • Card-Carrying Villain: Genius!Krusha sings about he loves every aspect of being evil. He also accuses K. Rool of not going far enough and that that's why the Kongs always win.
  • Didn't See That Coming:
    • Klump tries to scare Diddy and Dixie away from the explosive-rigged minecart, only for them to ride away on said minecart.
Klump: I was only tryin' to scare them away...
Genius!Krusha: But you didn't expect them to take the minecart, did you, smartypants?
    • After Genius!Krusha brags about how he planned everything to the last detail, Klump points out that DK just left with the Crystal Coconut.
Genius!Krusha: You see Klump, everything is going according to plan.
*DK returns quickly to grab the Crystal Coconut*
Klump: But you didn't expect him to take the Coconut, did'ja, smartypants!?
  • Didn't Think This Through: K. Rool saw the mine cart go by with the kids holding the Crystal Coconut, so he immediately chased after them. After getting stuck on the cart, he remembered the part about the bomb.
  • Dirty Coward: Krusha's always been bigger and stronger than him, but he's also been completely loyal, so K. Rool had no problem badgering and insulting him. When Krusha becomes intelligent and starts asserting himself, K. Rool folds like a lawn chair.
  • Dumbass No More: A blow to the head makes Krusha a genius. When it happens again, he's back to his old self.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Klump is appalled by Genius!Krusha's plan involving putting Dixie and Diddy in danger of death. In fact, despite using the same vehicle, Genius!Krusha and Klump seem to have different motives for pursuing them. Genius!Krusha wants the Crystal Coconut and Klump is trying to warn them of the bomb on their kart.
  • Eviler than Thou: Genius!Krusha forces K.Rool to submit to him once he reveals his true colors, threatening to remind him why he is called Krusha.
  • Face Death with Dignity: Stuck in the runaway mine cart with the end of the track in sight. K. Rool bemoans how he must "go boom". Fortunately for him, the bomb has a delayed detonation.
  • Go Fast or Go Boom: Krusha secretly modifies King K. Rool's plan to lure DK to a mine cart with no brakes by rigging a bomb to the cart, which will explode if it stops. When it finally does stop, though, the bomb doesn't go off until a few seconds later, after K. Rool is able to get out of it.
  • Gone Horribly Wrong: With no Crystal Coconut in sight and being stuck in proximity to the bomb, Genius!Krusha concedes his plan has "gone slightly awry."
  • Oh, Crap!: Klump when he realizes Genius!Krusha had a device with a blinking light installed on the cart. It only gets worse when told what it is.
    • K. Rool gets one after the bomb’s delayed explosion goes off, realizing that he really did almost bite it.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: DK and Candy successfully airlift Diddy off the rigged mine kart using Bluster’s copter… and leave K. Rool behind to presumably be blown up.
  • Properly Paranoid: Klump acknowledges Genius!Krusha's increasingly obvious lack of respect towards K. Rool.
  • "Shaggy Dog" Story: As it turns out, Dixie and Diddy were never in any danger as the bomb set on it had too much of a delayed reaction.
  • Status Quo Is God: After spending most of the episode an Evil Genius thanks to a mine cart crashing into him, a second collision restores Krusha to his natural, but preferable, stupidity.
    K. Rool: Back to dumb and dumber!
  • Suddenly Shouting: "Actually, it's more like BOOOOOM!"
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Krusha goes from being a harmless Punch-Clock Villain to an Insufferable Genius prepared to kill two children to achieve his goal.
  • Villain Song: Genius!Krusha's "I Like Evil" song.
  • Where's the Kaboom?: K. Rool comes to a stop, expecting the worst, only for the bomb to not explode. It finally goes boom once he's stormed off and ranted at Klump and Krusha, who is back to his normal lack of intelligence.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To Speed
  • Would Hurt a Child: Genius!Krusha's plan hinges on Diddy and Dixie being in danger. Whether they survive or die, he just doesn't care.
