Synopsis

As dark forces converge, Dirk, Todd, Farah, and Detective Estevez are forced into a final battle: save Lydia Spring, face certain death, or both.

Tropes

  • And Then What?: When Lydia threatens to smash the soul-swapping device, one of the drones asks this question to which she doesn't have an answer.
  • Arrow Catch: Bart catches an arrow in mid-air that was fired at her.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Bart and Ken arrive just in time to save the day. Bart offs the baddies and Ken fixes the device so it can be sent back in time.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Lydia is returned to her own body and the cult is destroyed, but Friedkin has taken over Project Blackwing, kills Estevez, and takes Dirk as well as the Rowdy Three as prisoners.
  • Distinction Without a Difference: When Todd accuses Dirk of lying, the latter correct him by saying that he wasn't lying but "strategic no-truthing".
  • Hairpin Lockpick: Farah has a pin hidden in her bra which she uses to break herself, Dirk and Todd out of the cell Estevez locked them in.
  • Hey, Catch!: Farah uses this trick against Gordon. He points a gun at her while she is protecting herself with the dog. He then threatens to shoot her in the head upon which she tosses the dog at him. He drops his rifle to catch the dog at which point Estevez throws Farah a gun with which she shoots Gordon in the head.
  • Hypocritical Humor: Bart calls the heroes nutjobs and hurries to leave with Ken.
  • Klingon Promotion: Hugo kills Riggins in order to become the head of the Black Wing project.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After lying so long about pararibulitis, Todd gets it for real.
  • Loud of War: Gordon uses a device with a high-pitched sound against Estevez and Farah.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Dirk, already dying from blood loss due to being hit by an arrow, gets shot with yet another arrow in the same shoulder. His reaction is just an exasperated "Really?" before dropping to the floor.
  • Mood Whiplash: Just when it seems that all's well that ends well, Hugo shows up and shoots Estevez.
  • [Popular Saying], But...: This exchange between Ken and Bart:
    Ken: What doesn't kill you, you know, usually makes you...
    Bart: Makes you hurt real bad and makes you cry.
    Ken: Makes you stronger.
  • Pre-Mortem One-Liner: Bart gets a pretty succinct one during her Big Damn Heroes moment]]:
    Mook: Who's that, Ed?
    Bart: [beat] Yo. [shoots Ed]
  • Put Down Your Gun and Step Away: Estevez commands Farah to drop her weapon which she does.
  • Taking the Bullet: When a baddie fires from his crossbows, Dirk jumps in front of Lydia and takes an arrow to his shoulder.
  • This Means War Paint: Gordon puts blue war paint on his face before facing off the heroes.
  • We've Got Company: Line said by Estevez when he hears noises upstairs at the animal transfer station.
