The first classroom trial has begun. Naegi has to think fast, or everyone innocent will get punished! Kirigiri seems to be on to something, but she isn't handing out answers. When the trial is over, will Monokuma go through with his "punishment"?
This episode provides examples of:
- Arc Number: Behind Sayaka's corpse there's the number “11037” written with blood.
- Decoy Protagonist: Sayaka starts out as what appears to be the female lead of the anime... But she's murdered in the second episode, and replaced by Kyoko.
- Despair Event Horizon: Monokuma's personalized "inspirational" video showed Sayaka's idol group collapsed on a stage, to an uncertain fate.
- Kill the Cutie: Sayaka is murdered and her corpse is found in Makoto's shower.
- Wall Slump: Sayaka's stabbed corpse is slumped up against the shower's wall with way too much blood covering her and the wall itself.
