Dan is heartbroken when his favorite sandwich shop is taken over by an up-market French restaurant. Chris and Elise are excited to try the place - each feeling secretly guilty that they forgot their anniversary.

Elise: And we spent the whole day with the bail bondsman.
Chris: Yeah, Dan had that whole nun thing. - Pet the Dog: Dan grows to genuinely care about the well-being of the "subhumans" in Chef Puree's dungeon. He also saves some rabbits and lobsters from getting cooked earlier, albeit mostly just to spite the restaurant.
