Don't worry, law doesn't apply here.

Ocean Shore is the first district investigated in Criminal Case: Pacific Bay.

Primarily based on Malibu Beach, Ocean Shore is an urban setting characterized for its colorful beaches, touristic spots, and wild nightlife. The district mainly deals with the player adjusting themselves to their new life in Pacific Bay, lacking any sort of storyline and instead focusing on meeting your new teammates on the Pacific Bay Police Department as you solve some run-of-the-mill crimes in the area.

    Cases Set in Ocean Shore
  1. Shark Attack!: A reality TV star is eaten by a shark on a beach.
  2. Death on Wheels: A street racer is chained up on a car then scalped by pavement.
  3. What Dies Beneath: A professional diver drowns on a coral reef after having her equipment sabotaged.
  4. Dead Girl Rolling: A roller derby captain drops dead during a match after being poisoned.
  5. The Ice Queen: A blogger is frozen to death with liquid nitrogen on a beach.

Tropes:

  • Arc Villain: Whilst not actively threatening or plotting anything beyond having a good life, Derek Stone serves as the main antagonist of the district, being a thief and drug dealer who Frank has been trying to lock behind bars for a long time.
  • Beach Episode: It's not called Ocean Shore for nothing.
  • Close-Knit Community: Practically everyone knows each other in Ocean Shore, which makes it the perfect area for some hard partying and many illicit activities with no one bating an eye about it.
  • No Plot? No Problem!: Notable for being the first and only district in Criminal Case that lacks any sort of Story Arc or plot. Even the Historical Center, whose cases were mostly self-contained, still dealt with the Chekhov's Gun that was the Dog Pageant Contest, something that Ocean Shore lacks.
  • Recurring Character: The recurring characters of this district are Derek Stone, Becky Walden, Zack Taylor, Roger Strout, and Lenny Spitfire.
  • Urban Hellscape: While not as bad as the Industrial Area, it's pretty obvious that law hasn't reached many parts of this district. Street racing, drug dealing, prostitution, black markets, illegal parties, and of course murder are abundant, and even after you leave Ocean Shore, it's clear that people here will continue living the good but illegal life they've always wanted.
