Craig and Jessica forget their keys to the house, so Craig has to bring her to the Creek until their parents get home.
Tropes:
- Bathos: While Jessica's outburst is slightly humorous, the context (Craig scolding her for bothering him) leans it more towards Tear Jerker. Then J.P. adds "Well that was really hard to watch."
- Crazy-Prepared: An extra pair of Craig's outdoor clothes are hidden in a ziplock bag in front of his house, which lets him go to the creek while locked out without messing up his school clothes.
- The Key Is Behind the Lock: Craig and Jessica left their house keys inside the house, which sets the plot in motion.
- Malaproper: "You're a sticker, Craig!" note
- "Not So Different" Remark: Craig accuses Jessica of being a stickler, but he’s obsessed with having his plans exactly as he drew them, which Jessica calls him out on.
- Potty Emergency: Craig has to go to the bathroom in the beginning of the episode. Moments later, he claims that he took care of it, and cautions Jessica of stepping on the wet spot in the garden.
- Skewed Priorities: When J.P. gets smacked into the ground by Craig's Tree Buchet, Craig complains that he has to grow a new tree.
- Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Craig thought he could Catapult to Glory by pulling down a tree with his own weight, latching it down, then releasing it. This would violate the basic mechanics of a catapult (if it couldn't hold Craig up, it certainly couldn't fling him into the air), and so the tree stays down until Craig steps off it.
- Tree Buchet: Craig tries to make an escape catapult out of a tree. It eventually fails when the tree is uprooted from being tied down and snapping up too much.
- We Are Not Going Through That Again: Jessica appears to have enjoyed her time at the creek at the end, but when asked if she'd like to visit again, she responds "Absolutely not!"
